This was my last day at the now dead Horton Plaza Mall. Yeah it’s a shell of itself in DTSD, and only held up by a few stores, like ligaments of a frail body. I can remember the sights at night, the McDonald’s tucked in the top corner, the drugstore down on the ground floor. That news stand near the 5th Ave. entrance. Now it’s just a place to use the restrooms in the DT area. FYE put in a pop up shop in one of the lower building spaces. City probably let them, just to get that extra squeeze of money out of the mall before it is torn down. The way to shooting photography is not in some book, it’s not on a site or in a tutorial. It’s in a minds eye. I heard a man once say his PHD in photography meant Push Here Dummy. This just means as long as you can push the shutter release. Well, then your good to go, everything else you can learn when it happens. You figure out soon enough how the body of the camera act in different lighting situations. So you adjust to fit the mood. After awhile you find the mode dial slipped. All that time spent, lost on shooting photographs. Maybe, it wasn’t for not, your shooting in Manual Mode and it’s a lot easier then you thought. You can navigate through the camera fast like a extension of your arm.
