god aya and i have been friends for like .. how long now ? seven / eight years ? aya knows that she’s one of my best friends, if not my legit best friend. she is so supportive in my endeavors no matter what i do, and while she gives me the reality check i sometimes need, she also acknowledges my feelings without it bordering a near-piteous line. for someone like me, who is actually very sensitive to how certain things are phrased, it’s not an easy line to dance on – but she does it so well that it feels easy and uplifting speaking to aya. i spend so much time checking discord to see if she’s on so i can go talk to her because i love conversing with her and just being with her !! i love aya so much like she’s one of the few people that i’m extremely thankful to have in my life because i don’t know where i’d be without her. i can only hope that aya thinks that i’m just as close of a friend as i think of her !   //   @dualstarred

hands cupped together and hot air exhaled out between lips tinged with a slight blue color, she glared at the girls her age walking down the street. there was much to be jealous of. for one, their coats seemed warmer and overall cleaner. secondly, they had a warm home to go back to at the end of a day out with their friends.

         dinner ghosts by with her responses only cursory, too concentrated on her task to notice if the meal was actually good ( or to even soak in yuuko’s attention as usual ). but when keith readies to turn in for the night and disappear into his room, yerin snaps back into reality, hurrying after him just in time to catch his sleeve. ❝ oh, keith -- i, um . . .  ❞ her stomach queases as she holds the plastic bag in front of him, lumpy with opalescence dark blue from the contents. 

❝ i found this when i was helping the estate liquidator in ella’s room yesterday . . .  they let me keep it. i think . . . i think she went to the market late that night before and she picked up some things for the house . . . ❞ the contents made it obvious. the pickled red ginger yerin had asked for ( to make tomie’s dish extra flavorful, as requested ). hangover medicine for yuuko. mako’s favorite candy. amongst those and other sundries, yerin had found a pair of large navy slippers, soft and thickly lined. they weren’t particularly fashionable or pretty, but made for efficiency, comfort, made in knowing the owner could spill something or do a quick run to the trash in them and survive. the kind of slippers a mom might buy.

she does her best to say his name correctly, but . . .  some details have been forgotten. STILL, the dragon runs forward brightly as keith heads to the door for work, eyes shining as she carries her masterpiece. late last night, mako had snuck out of the bedroom with lance to watch some television to learn a bit more about the humans of this world . . . . and she had been captivated by some of the food displayed in the shows. after thoroughly enjoying her own bowl of rice during dinner, she woke up early to make a giant rice ball for keith. 

she holds it out cheerfully, the bundle basically the size of her head and stuffed with an entire fried fish. “ don’t forget your lunch !! have a good day at work ! “  @dualstarred
