honestly, even after watching her all night long he wasn't expecting that type of response. it seemed like he still had a long way to go before he fully knew rin. how she was going to react and her general mannerisms. he had all of the time in the world. "guess not. that's none of your concern anymore though." he chuckled softly.

good, she also seemed to have a sensible head on her shoulders. if she had chosen to run all over again, then he would have had to ask himself if she was actually smart. "good girl. you have a nice set of survival instincts and a good head on your shoulders." he stood up and brushed off some of the dirty from his suit. "and i am handsome."

a shit eating grin formed on his face as he reached his hands back over to her. this time, it was to help rin up instead of hunt her down once more. "your uncle at the end of the day cannot stop me. unless he figures out how to kill me, i can kill all of his men and him in a matter of a minute tops." as his grin grew even more, he flashed his fangs over at her. a small hiss came from his side of the woods. "my name's breet and if you couldn't tell you, i'm a little more than just human."

OK SO i had this idea for an ObitoxOC story. I was wondering if it would work if the OC reminded Obito of Rin in some way and any suggestions on how that would work? I don't want to make her a clone of Rin, but she has something that is reminiscent of her that captures Obito's attention, love your friendly neighbourhood anonman xx

Oh yes Obito deserves some love, and a person that isn’t directed connected with his past.

So, that’s my first piece of advice — aside from similarities in mannerisms to Rin, try to not have the OC be connected (by blood, friendship, or otherwise) to any of the main cast. Obito has had only bad memories with the main cast of Naruto, so if your OC is a breath of fresh air, I personally think it’s more likely for Obito to have initial interest.

Secondly, I’m of the opinion that Obito’s crush on Rin was a crush on an idea, not Rin herself. Obito can see no flaws in Rin, which is objectively impossible. After Obito is attracted to your OC from the similarities to Rin, have him be very critical of the parts that don’t remind him of Rin, and get angry at the OC for it, then have him come around to the fact that the Rin he loved was an idea, an image on a pedestal, not her. 

Did that make sense? Put in another way, the OC should realize Obito’s infatuation with the idea of Rin, and help him move past that.

I actually really love this kind of love stories, there’s just so much angst involved, and both sides usually come out of it for the better.
