(Funkfeuer 54)
Behind the Sølvpil moniker we find Danish producer Anders Remmer aka. Dub Tractor aka. Jet, who was also one third of Future 3, later to become System – People used a lot of aliases in the 90’s…
As Sølvpil, he produced minimalist, thumbing, dub-techno, exclusively for Multiplex – Always captured in impressive, one take, recording sessions.
Anders released his “500 EP” in 1996, but he also contributed tracks to the Get Lost and Past-Present+Future compilations, as well as Tivoli Trax – The version featured in the video above is from the latter.
working
In these quarantine days, now 48, often if I am not depressed and want to do nothing, I study new combinations of sounds. After "Pithekoussai" I understood how to work, but every time I start to create a new track, it happens to use a completely different method from the previous one; this is not desired, but I simply listen to ambient, techno, dub records every day and try to catch ever new details. I think that for those who make music, the influence that other artists' records may have on their music is very important. Even if I make a disc called "dub-techno" this will always be different from compositions made by other artists; with "pitehekoussai" I think I did it, took various influences and mixed them. When two and a half years ago I left with the intention of exploring this deep world, I did not know much technically speaking, if not the classic 90s (German), which we all know and have danced. As soon as I understood a minimum of the various styles, I immediately decided to create softer tracks than more square things; especially thanks to my friend and producer GB EDGE I deepened the listening of ambient music. I never thought of making field registrations and that these would become my daily bread. Nothing is sure, but at the moment I'm working on some tracks that could increase with the passing of the days, thus finding myself with something new ... thinking about it it would be nice to be with an album in your hands ... one thing is certain, as written some day ago: the first track will be a reaction for you on the bandcamp profile of my label TOTAN LAB. I will update you soon.
