My friend sent me this song without telling me the title or anything, and asked if I could tell what song it was. I said that it sounded vaguely familiar but I couldn't tell what it was. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites by Skrillex? You've got to be kidding me. This is why I love acoustic guitar covers of popular songs - artists can cover the song with their own flare and ornaments and in whatever style they choose, which gives the song a completely different feel. Bear Cavalry is a band formed in Gosport on the Southern English coast that combines intricate rhyhtms, african chants, trumpets, falsetto vocals and electro synths. Here's a recording to the original dubstep song. Would you have recognized it?

I'm the ultimate loser because I don't have any bandcamp suggestions for you guys today. My bad. I will get on that, I promise.

I went to see Pacific Rim today (by myself because I'm a fucking cool kid, you guys) and I kind of fell in love. It was a perfect summer blockbuster popcorn flick of a movie and stuff exploded like crazy. I can dig it.

So anyway, I'm all hyped up from that movie so I've been (shamelessly) listening to dubstep covers of my favorite songs. If there's one thing I love more than The White Stripes, it's the Glitch Mob cover of Seven Nation Army.

Let's go smash some sea-monster aliens with robot fists, you guys.
