V Muse Jewelry
duchessofostergotlands:
What do we know about this V Muse place? Seems strange they just popped up and started laying out huge sums of money for tiaras!
I've been researching them because I was wondering the same thing. The were the official jeweler for Le Bal last year too and I had never heard of them before. I looked into them a bit more this year and I found out that they are not an antique/estate jeweler like I thought.
They were founded in 2017 by Alex Fan and Vivian Jia as East Langkun International Culture. They had been collecting items and working with museums in 2009. So they are an art institute and are not selling any of the jewels.
East Langkun is an international culture institution headquartered in Beijing. It is dedicated to the exploration, discover, and protection of artworks worldwide, and is highly reputed by it's achievements in academic research and conservation, cultural exchanged, museum operations, exhibitions and publications
Then in 2018 they went on a huge buying spree spending millions and millions of dollars buying jewelry at auctions. Like seriously the amount of money they spent in that year alone is ridiculous. It's not unusual for rich people to buy a lot of jewelry but usually it's done over a much longer time period. They also usually either hoard it in a vault or loan it to a museum in a dedicated hall with their name really big over the door.
Before they partnered with Le Bal in 2022, they changed their name from East Langkun to V Muse. The websites and inventories are the same. I was confused last year because V Muse keeps calling themselves a brand so I thought they were selling the jewelry.

It's a little odd for an art institute to loan items to be worn like this but I enjoy seeing the jewelry worn so I'm not complaining. They also have lots of pictures and information on their website and loan the jewelry to museums and exhibitions. I have no idea where all that money came from but I guess if I suddenly became a billionaire I'd do the same thing.
I love this time of year on royal Tumblr.
You all create the most wonderful edits, compilations and GIFs to summarise the royal year in such a creative way!!
A lil' shout out to my faves:

Happy holidays and know how much your creativity warms the hearts of others ❤️
@duchessofostergotlands
They also explicitly refused to cast British actors in the film in key roles because of where they chose to film. It was a big headline over here so I can’t imagine the very British BAFTA enjoying that haha
Plus from the trailer her accent was awful to me as a Brit. Americans won’t know the difference lol
Ahahahaha, that would explain the BAFTAs, but what about the SAG? xD
@duchessofostergotlands we got a Congressional Impeachment Manager cape moment

@royal-hair your tag made me laugh hahaha
Hahahahaha I do really feel represented, I’m always trying to fix other’s hair and now I know that she is one of us and is looking all the time at the hair of her family members (and I bet that not only her family’s hahaha)
Madeleine is me and I am Madeleine hahahaha
Thank you for making that gifset, I love it ♥
Me and @duchessofostergotlands hating the same things, liking the same men and being pessimistic Celts in general:

Later on can we come back to why you were at the funeral of a 103 year old nun?
Ok, so backstory: my primary school was a Catholic school and, like all good Catholic schools, it was on the grounds of a church. We also, like all good primary schools, had a choir. You could be on the choir from Year 3 to Year 6, but our music teacher, Mrs Franklin, would let in a few children from Year 2 every year if you could remember the words and actions to a specific song from one week to the next.
Now, I forgot about this test, so I copied Charlotte Farmery and, lo and behold, I was accepted onto the choir due to my wonderful memory (and Charlotte Farmery did not). A few months later, a nun from the church, Sister Illidia, turned 100, so she had a service of celebration in her church and the choir sang during the service. Afterwards, we got cake and also this tiny crystal thing of Mary, which lives on top of my mum’s bookcase right now.
Three years later, at the grand old age of 103, Sister Illidia died and some bright spark decided to get the school choir to sing at her funeral, instead of, you know, a real choir. And, as the emotional little girl I was, in between singing, I s o b b e d. And then after the mass, we had more cake.
