Caught up on some Duck Dynasty last night. Safe to say, there might be some new memes in your future. Is anyone excited about this?
Liam is being real and it is so refreshing. He shouldn't have to defend himself because he said he likes a show that never talks about the issues everyone is freaking out about in the episodes. That is from an article not the show and the man he tweeted at did not say it, so like he said do your research.
Okay I just have to rant about this Liam thing, so just let me do this. First of all the tweet was directed at Willie Robertson and the person who made the controversial comments was his father, Phil. I know for a fact that your parents' opinion on things does not necessarily have anything to do with yours, they are a different generation and their views could very well be too. I'm going to assume the person who tweeted this was not aware of this and was referring to what they have seen on the show. Secondly, it specified the aspects of WILLIE that he respected.
First their business: they are millionaires because of their duck calls, but they continue to live down to earth lives. They realize that their money is not their greatest success in life. I don't think this is such a bad thing for a famous person to look up to. `
Secondly their family: they are still a very close knit group of people and realize that you need to appreciate the time you have with them. I'm glad he loves his family, people can disappear quickly and he should spend as much time with them as possible.
I watch the show and think that there are a lot of lessons that can be taken from that. The comments that Phil made were off air and I don't agree with them. Someone can like a product of someone and not have all the same damn views as them. If you're a fan of something it does not mean you are a fan of everything the creator does behind closed doors. Feel free to unfollow me if you don't agree, but I just want people to realize that not everything is black and white or right and wrong. Gray is a color for a reason!
Watch an episode and then feel free to come talk to me, because I am sure that is what he is referring to. I doubt he keeps up to date on the most resent reality TV news.
If you watch a show based off of hillbillies doing hillbilly things and get offended from something hillbillies usually say.
Then you're maybe watching the wrong show
Here's my bit on the Duck Dynasty stuff:
Phil had the right to say what he said, BUT A&E also has the right to do what they did in response.
A&E is a business. If you had an employee in your major corporation that was saying things that were not only controversial, but hurtful to many customers, you would certainly punish them.
I am not saying that I agree with what Phil said, he is closed minded and ignorant, and hopefully that ignorance will die out of this country soon, but I do stand by his right to say what he believes.
I seriously jealous of all my friends that went to Uncle Si's book signing.
