Thankful for the Big Duck || Flanders, NY
I just think it's soooo strange how people will pose for a photo with this expectation of it going on Facebook, and for that very reason will put on these various poses that they also know full well are like, practically copyrighted poses that are currently in fashion or something. Like the duck pose and the "let me put my arms up at a 45 degree angle because I'm so excited about the background of this shot" pose. You know you've done it. I think I've done it before. But that doesn't deny that it is very very strange. I used to like taking photos but now it feels like it's all for the sake of social leverage. And that is just uncomfortable to me.

I was checking out photos of some teenagers in facebook
And guess what, they all have the same face. The same duck face, tongue-sticking out pose, peace sign, cross-eyed pose, edited pictures and top angle photos. It was so tiresome to look at. As I flicked through their photo album with 400 plus pictures of their faces in different backgrounds, different clothes but same old face, the thought of how can anyone put that same face all over again popped in my mind. When you go home, do you spend the whole evening staring at the mirror and create poses then grab your IPhone or camera then click away. Then spend the whole morning uploading them and saying thank you to random people because they liked your freaking photo with that same shitty face all over again! Given the fact that they are really pretty, but, girl! Please do something else with your face. And don't depend your self worth (or if you prefer face worth) to likes and comments that you are beautiful! And most especially, being pretty doesn't mean posing in front of the camera all the freaking time and showing it off.
I would rather a girl who is not photogenic but is full of personality and individuality, that if her personality is to be put on a photo, it would be a master piece than a girl who has tons of pictures that doesn't even speak any of her personality. I would rather a girl who has the same smile all through out her photos than this girl who has different poses which is perfected through constant staring at her face in the mirror! I can't even with these teenagers.
