to say she’d agreed to tour with the girls would be far from the truth, though it’s not as if a girl group could function without one of four vital assets. travelling from province to province was exhausting work, and now the blade’s fire had burned out. luckily for her, she had two weeks to recover in the next kingdom; demacia.
the plan was to travel soon after their previous gig and use the downtime to kick back and relax, which was exactly what akali had planned to do. she’d already made a name for herself within the group as the laziest when it came to life outside of her rap career, and she wasn’t going to let the process of touring change that. that is, until the first day of the following week.
thanks to a majority vote of three in favour, the group had arranged a public event in demacia’s grand plaza. as if the setting wasn’t busy enough on a regular basis, the news of k/da’s presence had tripled the head count, a nightmare for akali, whose social skills were comparable to that of a stone gargoyle, as if galio was any less of a social butterfly than she was. sigh.
the stands had several queues, one for each member of the girl group, and one separate line for those with a higher social status in demacia. many would argue it was unfair to favour royalty and higher classes more than the general public, but the decision was made in order to address the more important faces, and to keep the lines from becoming uncontrollable. fortunately, it worked out in their favour and left them with a much more manageable crowd.
naturally, more people were stood in line to meet the poster girl of kda, ahri. that isn’t to say she was the most loved of the group however. the number of people lined up just to get even just a smile and wave from akali came as quite the surprise to her. previously, she’d performed for smaller audiences and people would recognise her on the streets. she never thought there’d be a day where a brief meeting with her called for several armed guards. it was flattering, but she’d be lying if she’d said that she didn’t feel physically sick at the mere thought of it.
as her gaze wandered through the sea of excited faces, a few heads down in the vip line she caught a glimpse of a magenta streak. her lack of knowledge left her unable to identify who the lady was, but the choice of colour and style was something she could dig. were she to ever get the chance to talk to the woman, she’d make it a point to compliment her for sure, if nothing else.
