A sigh left her lips as she finished wiping down the table she had been cleaning for the past fifteen minutes. Really, whoever had been sitting there had no manners at all. They’d left a huge mess. Drops of curry sauce and rice everywhere, as if they didn’t have the sense not to talk with their mouth full of food... Not only that, but spilling their drink while they were at it? Really, were they trying to make more work for her? It’d certainly do them no favors with her service the next time they came in.
She clicked her tongue, satisfied that she’d gotten the worst of it. The floor would certainly need to be mopped later, but it was easier to do that during a lull in customers when the cafe was nearly empty. Straightening her back with a slight wince, she returned to the back to return the washcloth so it could be cleaned.
“Ram-san,” one of the younger girls called tentatively, nervously trying to get her attention, “would you mind taking this out to the dumpster? Aya-chan said she saw someone hanging around out there earlier and got scared..” Ahhh..more work. Well, she couldn’t exactly turn it down if one of the younger girls were scared. She could at least defend herself if she needed to with her powers.
“Mm. I’ll take it,” she agreed, taking the garbage bag from the other girl and made her way through the kitchen to the back door. She stepped out into the alley and shut the door behind her, turning to her left to hoist the bag into the dumpster. Surely whoever Aya had seen couldn’t still be loitering around...is what she would have thought had she not turned and found that, sure enough, there was indeed a person standing in the alley, looking more than a little suspicious.
“Loitering in an alley? Are you some sort of creep? Don’t tell me you’re here to try and take advantage of one of my precious kouhai. Only a creep waits to ambush a poor unsuspecting girl in an alley.”
