#206.5 - Dunsparce live in caves and in complex underground burrows that they dig with their drill-tipped tail. They are capable of hovering slightly with their small wings, but cannot fully take flight; some scientists believe this species were able to fly in the sky during ancient times. If they must flee quickly, Dunsparce can escape backwards by furiously boring into the ground with their tails. By honing this skill, Dunsparce can learn the move Hyper Drill, which will trigger their evolution into Dudunsparce. As these Pokémon mature into Dudsparce and continue their drilling, they become able to bore into hard bedrock and stone, crafting masterful, maze-like nests that can reach over six miles long. They are easy-going and known to give rides to smaller Pokémon. Due to genetic variation, there exists versions of Dudunsparce with three segments, though sightings of these forms are much rarer.
Named: Dunsparce - Dudsparce - Dudunsparce
(Dudsparce [duhd·spaars] bridges Dunsparce and Dudunsparce and references "dud.")
