Santino watched, arms crossed in front of his chest. His eyes did not stray from the unfolding scene before them. Lestat was badgering Khayman ceaselessly with his questions, and the Ancient replied patiently, almost excitedly, with every detail. Santino curled his lip in a slim snarl. 

“There’s nothing to be done now.” Santino’s voice was soft but low. He was a silent specter in all this, wandering the halls as if driven, but escaping company whenever it offered itself. Yet he did not leave this island. He could not bear to be on his own these nights, or near the others. As such he was known to them as an unforgiving hostile creature. 

“But this turned out in your favor, didn’t it? All who could have wanted your head, or your maker’s... They’re all dead now.”
