The cool summer night air had been a wonderful reprieve to him, the club could be so stuffy. Especially towards the end of the night, heat from bodies and lights overhead building up all evening. Mariku held a lit cigarette between his middle and index finger as he tapped it off out the window of his car. Lights and engine turned off as he simply sat in his darkened vehicle parked on the side of the street.

He hadn't really planned on hunting tonight, He was simply unwinding. Running his free hand through the his thick blonde mane.

This part of town wasn't particularly busy. The street was empty and full of dark office buildings. It made it all the more noticeable when he saw movement out of the corner of his vision as he turned his head to observe.

Someone across the street moving under one of the yellow lamp posts. Lavender eyes fixating on them in the dark. Still a bit hard to make out as they had their face turned away.

It was his day off and he'd gotten bored of sitting in his apartment watching TV, so Bakura had ventured to the nearby park. He'd occasionally walked through it as a shortcut on his way to work, but he'd never taken the time to actually take in the scenery. He was walking the path alongside the river when a little ways ahead of him he saw a familiar figure.

His breath hitched in his throat and he froze to the spot. It had been years. He had no idea Malik was even in Domino City, had always assumed he was back in Egypt. He looked as stunning as ever. Bakura wanted to approach him. He was afraid to approach him. Things could never be the same as they were back then, right? What if he didn't want anything to do with him? He didn't know if he was ready to find out how he'd react if that happened. He just stood there, staring longingly.

Ryuji brushed some of his hair back and laughed at that. It had been a while since he hung out with Jonouchi, and well, he hoped the blonde would help him out with a project.

"Alright. Fair enough," he replied. "But this isn't some world-saving job, I swear. I just want to pick your brain for a while for a new game I'm working on, and hoping that you would test it with me," he explained, and then he crossed his arms. "What do you say? I'll pay you what I can."
