hi there~ i was just wondering if you had a good recommendation on where to watch kamen rider or super sentai??? (i've been meaning to but i just kept putting it off lol)
i definitely do although i admittedly have not watched as many sentais as i should have but!! here’s a quick starter list
kamen rider:
ooo (2010-2011) - just a really really solid show with a strong plot and great character arcs, i’ve never heard anyone say a bad thing about it and i loved it a lot
ghost (2015-2016) - technically my first kr, super sweet and hopeful (and sad ofc) and just such a lovely, warm show to watch. ppl (read: dudebros) say it’s boring but i loved it and i think it’s great to start with, it has really good themes and beautiful characters
fourze (2011-2012) - everyone recs fourze to start with & my friends would kill me if i didn’t put it on here. it’s super cute and based around friendship and high school so there’s not a whole lot of plot but it’s just a fun time all around. not super high stakes, but adorable and soft.
super sentai:
toqger (2014) - my first sentai bingewatch and it was incredible, its so fun and light and happy but it also has some really emotional beats and twists and turns. everyone is super cute and it just. will make you so happy please watch toqger.
shinkenger (2009) - just a really super solid series, great thematic core and characters who all grow and develop in different ways… it just. feels exactly like a sentai should. its just Good.
kyuranger (2017) - currently airing for about three more weeks but its been a really fun ride so far! it has a great deal of plot and twists and turns, it’s kind of like. sentai star wars? it’s basically a space opera for kids. three of my friends watched this as their first sentai and all three loved it so yes i would rec it highly for getting you into sentai.
note that i didn’t start with any of these seasons technically (i started w/ decade and ninninger) but those are both anniversaries bc i’m just Like That, do as i say and not as i do :~) i hope you have fun!
