            it had not come as much of a surprise, really, when utterson had quietly delivered the news that young harry’s proposal to the board of governors had been summarily and unequivocally rejected. rejection, even of such a harsh nature, would have been the best outcome to reasonably expect; all things considered, the fellow was lucky he hadn’t lost his job on the spot. st. jude’s hospital was hardly ready to implement hand-washing before surgery, let alone embrace the controversial theories harry had proposed to undertake. 

           glass scraped quietly against wood as the scotsman slid a dram of whisky towards his nephew with a faint, sympathetic smile. “ you ought to put it out of your head, harry, really. nothing to be done now. ”

my first impression of your muse,

so - my experience w/ dr. jekyll & mr. hyde is from YEARS ago when my momma read the book to me & my sisters ; i have very vague recollections , but i remember being super confused & then super INTRIGUED when i finally caught on.

so about YOUR MUSE specifically - from what i’ve gleaned off your account , is i love your interpretation ? as aforementioned i’m not well-versed with your muse , but i’m very interested in how you tell the story of your characters’ interactions :0c well-written & enrapturing , CONSISTENT & detailed to impressive degrees ;0

“doctor jekyll,” she implores. a smaller hand places atop of henry’s -- a gesture that would drive mister clyde wild with a furious jealousy, though this is nothing but a friend, offering solace to a soul in need. her eyes beg for him to heed her words before they even part the tip of her tongue, her face as grim as a mourner observing a funeral.

“i ... know your work is greatly important to you. however,” she sighs; momentarily, dolores’s gaze trails off as well. how to suggest this to a man as driven (stubborn) as henry? “i feel it best you ... step away. at least for the time being. look what it has done to you,” the hand she clutches is now clasped within both of dolores’s hands.

“... not only to you -- to emma. please, doctor,” the visitor leans forward in her seat; “consider it, at least.”
