Probably the best Sumner moment in The North Water is when they were in that Lerwick pub, Sumner was like "I'm a military surgeon. Bloodshed doesn't impress me anymore." In that faux philosophical tone. What a fucking nerd. Then Drax and Cavendish look at each other, turn around and immediately start a brawl.
Sumner is standing there like "😦 oh um,," so he politely taps a man on the shoulder to fight. Posing like a 19th century boxer, full on "let's have fisticuffs" kinda look, Just to get punched in the side of the head and go down without ever throwing a fist. Amazing. No notes.
