I wrote a draft of a poem for Oakley and since everyone on here loves her dumbass I will share it with you even though it will probably be changed or added to since I’m writing it for a post Valentine’s Day open mic and ofc I love my stupid bun more than anything

An Ode to Oakley

Your warm tongue

Drags across my hand

Gracing my digits with your warmth

Your way of showing affection

Not wet like an eagerly devoted dog

I had to earn your trust

Or rough like a loving cats

Your purrs are so much different

Yet I love you all the same

Do you know how worried I was

When we went back home for the first time

And you refused to poop

How I spent two hours driving around

Going from store to store

Looking for digestive supports for you

Only to come home with them and see some pellets in your litter box

I had never been so happy to see shit in my life

Do you remember when I first brought you home?

You hid inside an empty cardboard monster box

It was fitting

My new fixation inside my old one

You were so scared

This was all new to you

I sat with you in your pen with barely contained excitement

I already loved you

But I had to show you patience

Because you did not love me yet

How could you when I had taken you from your first safe person

But he had to give you up even though he loved you

He wouldn’t be able to take care of you

But I could and I did

So I sat with you and I waited

I diligently tended to your needs even if I made a few mistakes at first

And slowly you got used to me

No longer needing the box between us even while you still kept your space

I tried my best to respect your boundaries

To accept when you hopped away from me

When all I wanted was to smother you in my love

To pet your soft fur and coo that it was okay

To assure you I would never hurt you

That I am big and clumsy

But no threat

And now you playfully charge at me

You beg me not to go to class

With your stupidly cute face

You run around my legs when I get back

You used to sleep by my head when I would let you

Until you kept pooping on my bed

Claiming it as yours

I can’t stand a dirty sleeping place

So you lost that privilege

And yet I nap on the floor

So we can still be close

Oh how many treats have I gotten you

That you do not eat?

And yet I get more

Hoping to find something to appease you

You are my rat

My rodent

My stinky

My dog

My beast

My Oakley sploakley

My bunny

Do you know how much I love you?

Peeta is like a dumb bunny. Sometimes adorable, but mostly dumb and a lot of work.

My mother during our conversation of who is better, Gale or Peeta. She says Peeta is dumb (Like with the nightlock) and didn't do much for the games besides saving Katniss once. Where Gale is more of a man.
