It's a sad state of affairs when news is put out from the White House that the President is ill, and your first thought is whether this is another lie; whether this is a ploy that will neatly resolve itself just in time for the election, with Trump claiming that, hey, COVID really IS just like the flu, or that a miracle cure was developed just in time! And isn't it awfully convenient that he won't be able to engage in further debates where he might have been muted.
I shouldn't have to doubt the word of the White House this much, but here we are.
