I always try to avoid the words: "It's not you, it's me," when rejecting someone, or dumping someone, because for some reason people really hate those words.

But I can't help the fact that for me, often it is true. I see the good sides of a person, but I am not attracted to those. That doesn't mean I want you to change, so that I will like you. I probably do like the sides of you, but I am just not attracted to you. 

So when I am saying: "It's not you, it's me" I actually mean: Don't change yourself because I don't like you! Someone else will probably like you for it
