This simple recipe will teach you how to make tasty Chinese steamed dumplings from scratch. You can share these tasty dumplings with family and friends. They are filled with a tasty pork mixture.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 cup warm water. 1/2 pound ground pork. 1/2 cup chopped green onions. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tablespoon soy sauce. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 1 teaspoon ginger, grated. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 1/4 teaspoon sugar.
Instructions: Mix the all-purpose flour and warm water together in a bowl to make a dough. For about 5 minutes, knead the dough until it gets smooth and springy. Put a damp cloth over the dough and let it sit for 30 minutes. Put the minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, salt, black pepper, and sugar in a different bowl. Mix the ingredients together. Mix everything together well. Cut the dough into small pieces that are about the size of a ping-pong ball. Make a thin circle out of each piece of dough that is about 3 inches across. Put a small amount of the pork filling in the middle of each circle of dough. Cut the dough in half to make a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges to close the dumpling. Do it again with the rest of the dough and filling. Place the dumplings on a baking sheet lined with cabbage leaves or parchment paper, leaving some space between each one. Over high heat, steam the dumplings for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they are fully cooked and the dough is clear. You can serve the hot Chinese steamed dumplings with your favorite sauce to dip them in.
