People in Nepal love Nepali Momo, which are also called Nepalese Meat Dumplings. They are a popular street food and snack. These tasty dumplings are steamed until they are just right. They are filled with seasoned ground meat. With a sauce or a hot bowl of soup, they're great!
Ingredients: 250g ground meat chicken, pork, or beef. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup water. 1/2 cup finely chopped onion. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1-inch piece of ginger, minced. 2 green chilies, finely chopped. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. 1 teaspoon soy sauce. 1 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder. 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder. 1/2 teaspoon chili powder. 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro. 1/2 cup water for steaming.
Instructions: Mix the all-purpose flour and water together in a bowl until you have a smooth dough. Put a lid on top and wait 30 minutes. Together with the green chilies, vegetable oil, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and chili powder in a different bowl, mix the ground meat. Make sure to mix the ingredients well until they are all well mixed. Make sure each piece of dough is the same size, and then roll it into a ball. Use a rolling pin to make a thin, round wrapper out of each ball. Put some of the meat mixture in the middle of each wrapper. To make a half-moon shape, fold the wrapper in half and seal the edges. If you want to add some style, you can pleat the edges. Put the momo dumplings in a steamer that has cabbage leaves or parchment paper on the bottom. Leave some space between them so they don't stick together. For about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the wrappers clear up and the meat is fully cooked, steam the momo dumplings. On top of the steamed momo, put chopped fresh cilantro. Serve hot with soup or a dipping sauce of your choice.
