the voice changer built into the mask of his suit made him sound like some fancy show-time announcer, standing over a couple hog-tied bad guys.

he hadn't had this much fun since the early days of the lasso show, when everything felt new and exciting, when no one knew his name.

basking in the crowd that gathers, he waves to a couple fans, poses for a couple pictures, blissfully unaware until a civilian calls out.

'look! it's neutron!'

" tsk. member of the seven crampin' my style? " he motions for the seasoned hero to join him. " lookin' for a photo op? "

║▌║█║▌│║▌║▌█      “  you  good,  dune  ?  ”  shanii  asks:  they  had  just  woken  up,  and  they  were  still  a  bit  groggy  to  a  point,  but  they  could  clearly  see  that  it  was  sebastien  in  their  view.  what  they  do  notice  is  that  he's  sweaty  …  the  shine  of  his  skin  is  prominent,  even  to  the  wind-bringer's  still  acclimating  vision.  a  rub  of  their  eyes  makes  it  worse,  then  better  as  they  move  a  bang  of  hair  from  their  face.  once  their  sight  is  better,  they  also  notice  that  dune's  naked  outside  of  a  towel  hanging  on  their  crotch  …  the  math  begins  to  math  just  a  bit  more  as  if  their  light  brown  oculars  were  looking  for  clues  to  something  they  could  probably  ask  off  the  bat.  before  they  can  ask,  they  do  see  a  discard  piece  of  clothing  on  the  floor,  and  it's  enough  for  them  to  deduce  what's  been  happening  in  their  slumber.

“  nevermind,  I  know  you're  good;  thanks  for  keeping  it  down.  ”  wasn't  the  hugest  secret  that  dune  and  maestro  were  messing  around.  they  had  eyes,  ears,  all  that  good  stuff.  anything  that  kept  dune  cool,  and  maestro  had  that  whole  devotion  thing  going  with  his  sex  drive  so  it  all  worked  out.  they  rise  up,  only  in  an  old  shirt  and  some  small  black  shorts,  stretching  as  a  lazy  yawn  comes  out  of  their  mouth.

there's plenty that tex could say, that he should say, but it would all be pointless. scrolling his phone, reading comments from citizens across the city, made his stomach churn. one of the first boundaries his agent had set was that he was better off not reading comments, but... that was always difficult to adhere to.

and now he was here, in a private lounge usually reserved for high ranking heroes, tucked in a hidden corner of the skypiercer. he liked to drink here sometimes, where his agent or anyone else from his team couldn't find him.

he was content drinking himself into a hole, a large bottle of bourbon nearly empty nearby. he takes another swig directly from the bottle just as the door slides open, clearing his throat as he sits up. the young hero doesn't even bother turning to face whoever had entered, perhaps too ashamed to even glance in their direction.
