Courtney’s elimination episode in action was so… weird to me
I think it makes sense from the fact she was losing her mind and her competitive side was coming out. Like of course 2 seasons of reality TV will do that to someone at 16
But the way it came out towards Duncan I think is what bothered me the most.. is it in character? Sort of. Like I understand her wanting to lay everything out smoothly and have control over a situation (especially since she just reminded herself she must do everything alone)
But Courtney is sweet.. she does care about Duncan. She likes him. It was weirdly cruel which not to say they can’t be mean to eachother (because they have been!!!) .. it just felt different. I think it’s because of Duncans response to it
Usually he’s all for it and sniping back at Courtney but this time he was so.. dejected.😭😭. I love a good Duncan is gone for Courtney and sometimes lets her boss him around but this felt obsessive !!! And strange!!! Idk!!!!
When the popular headcanon for Duncan from total drama island is that he's Canadian Italian but you headcanon him as being from an Canadian Irish family
this one was requested by my sister. The first half is mostly Chris-centric but dw it gets dunhar ok ok.
CW: profanity, mild gore, topics of murder, angst, hurt/no comfort
It’s not like exploring the old island was easy. What was once Chris’ property was now a crime scene. It didn’t help he found bodies of teenagers at almost every turn.
Still, for some reason he had to be there with the police.
He wished it was all a bad dream. He wished he’d wake up in him and Chef’s cabin and get the cameras ready to have the kids do another challenge. But that wasn’t going to happen. Ever again.
As much as they hated him, for good reason too, they were still his kiddos. Sure, he had “exposed” and “embarrassed” them, but it was for TV. And seeing teenagers, with their entire lives ahead of them, slaughtered and killed in the most gruesome and horrible ways, that was different. Each of the contestants all had something different about them, something special. But now it had gone to waste.
He shouldn’t have left those kids alone.
“Would I rather them than me?” Was the question he’d ask himself. He was the running tv star. They were just getting on tv.
He shook the thought away, snapping himself back into reality. Every step he took seemed louder than the rest, and it being nightfall didn’t help with his fear at all. he knew there were others on the island, but he also knew there was a killer lurking.
He turned around, no one was walking by themselves. They were all assigned partners, Chris’ being Duncan.
Though Duncan was nowhere to be found. Chris held up his flashlight, looking around. The woods looked as if they could swallow him whole in their seemingly endless abyss. “Duncan!” He called, nothing.
Damn.
He backed up, swallowing hard. He had seen so many bodies, Duncan probably ran away after seeing Courtney’s. He backed into a door, which fell beneath him. He hit his head on the floor, hard.
He sat up, coughing, and hit his flashlight with his hand, which was flickering in response.
He knew where he was, the shed. He stood up, it smelled like shit.
Something was decaying.
He turned around. Nothing could’ve prepared him for what he saw, though he’d seen some pretty horrible stuff so far.
Chris looked down and saw legs sticking out from under a tv stand, he followed up the stand and looked at the tv, which held Harold’s head.
He stepped back in fear, stomach lurching. This was sick. The worst part was, too, that the head and the body were still attached.
Harold’s eyes were glassy, and his glasses were no where to be found. A cut sliced across his forehead, dried blood sticking onto it.
“D-Duncan!” Chris called, hoping maybe Duncan had come back. but still, there was no response.
Chris stood there, not knowing what to do. He should probably alert someone. He pulled out his walkie talkie, which wasn’t working.
“Oh no no no no no no…” Chris hit the thing in his hand, trying to get it to work. “Come on!!”
Tv static caused him to look up. The tv, which was once showing Harold’s rotting face, was now showing a show Chris was on, an old show.
The announcer said his name, memories flooding back. This was before Total Drama Island. Before it all went wrong.
The channel switched suddenly, to some sort of romance movie. Someone was yelling, “Why did you leave me!?” The character on the tv said.
Chris stood frozen, his blood running cold with fear.
The tv said his name again, and then he realized, Harold was talking to him.
“Why did you leave-“
The channel switched
“-US!?”
Chris was trembling in fear, “I-“
“CHRIS!”
He turned around, and the TV shut off quickly.
Duncan was standing in the entranceway to the shed, along with two policemen.
“Duncan! T-The TV!” He pointed to it, only to see that there were no channels on, just Harold’s head.
Duncan stepped forward past Chris, looking down at the TV, “damn.”
Chris turned to the cops. “I-It talked to me!!”
They both looked at each other and rolled their eyes at him.
“N-No! Come on!” Chris turned back to the TV, “HAROLD! HAROLD COME ON!!”
Duncan turned towards him, “Harold isn’t gonna say SHIT because Harold is dead! He’s right there, Chris.”
“No he was…”
The two policemen cut him off, “let’s clean up this body, come on.”
While the police and Chris went to get supplies, Duncan had stayed behind. Looking down at Harold’s body.
He didn’t know what to do with himself. He knew Harold was dead. He had seen it the first time. It just looked…older now. The blood wasn’t running down Harold’s head. It just stuck, like a stain on dirty laundry.
Duncan sighed, his stomach lurched. There was no bringing him back. He turned around, but then heard…Chris say his name.
But Chris was with the cops.
He turned back to Harold’s body, the TV stuck on his head was playing an episode of Total Drama Island, Chris was just saying Duncan’s name on a loop.
Damn it. Chris was right.
“Harold?” Duncan whispered quietly
“I’m-“ the tv switched channels “-okay”
“No you’re not.” Duncan spat, “No one is. What makes you think this is okay? What makes you think you’re okay?”
He was met with static, but then switched to a channel, “could’ve-“
He was met with more static, he didn’t think Harold would be saying anymore. Until…
“Go!”
He turned around, “…huh?”
“Go!-“
“-Live!-“
“-I’m dead-“
“-there’s nothing left-“
“-you can-“
“-do-“
“-about that”
Duncan choked back a sob, as Harold kept “speaking”
“I just-“
“-wish-“
“-you would’ve-“
“-treated-“
“- me-“
“-better”
“Im so-“ Duncan started, but was cut off
“I love you”
Duncan’s jaw dropped, his heart racing. All that time he had wished Harold would say those three words to him. It finally happened. He stepped forward with hope but the TV shut off quickly, shutting down any single feeling of excitement left in his body.
He wasn’t going to entertain any cops with stories, and he wasn’t going to tell Chris that Harold had spoken to him as well. He didn’t want to talk to Chris or anyone.
Years had passed since the mass murders on the island. Duncan grew up, found a job. He lived in an apartment alone. He came home from work and stopped at the front door, the air was moist and humid that night, under his doorstep he found more letters from lawyers, they were already soaked so he ripped them apart just like the rest. He opened the door and walked into his dark apartment. He made sure to lock the door behind him, he did every night.
He found the remote and switched on the tv, he did every night.
There was no specific channel he liked to watch, the one that had played Total Drama Island had been cut a while back, and he never payed attention to the tv when it was on anyway.
He turned it on every night hoping Harold would find him somehow. Maybe his ghost could possess another TV.
He knew how stupid he sounded, and still every night he made himself a microwave dinner and sat on the couch until he fell asleep.
Harold hadn’t contacted him yet, but Duncan stilled kept the TV on every night, waiting for a sign.
CW: fighting, they beat each other up, choking, they make out
Harold didn’t even know how he was dragged into this stupid game anyways, maybe it was because of how lonely he was after him and leshawna broke up, but still, he didn’t really have any interest in anyone in the circle.
Heather looked at her phone and got up to knock on the closet doors, which had both Alejandro and Tyler inside.
“Times up” she said, her tone pretty bored
The two boys walked out (of the closet, happy pride month) Alejandro showing off a nonchalant attitude while Tyler’s face was flushed
Harold thought at first that Alejandro had rejected Tyler, but he noticed a closer detail, seeing the two holding hands
He was paying such close attention that he didn’t even notice it was his turn. Eventually he heard Cody next to him whisper “dude it’s your turn”
Embarrassed, harold spun the bottle, his heart racing just a bit. If it landed on Duncan, he was dead for sure.
He watched the bottle spin anxiously until it slowly and eventually came to a stop. He forced his eyes up from the bottle to see…
…Duncan.
He saw Duncan scowl. which, to be fair, Harold didn’t want to do this just as much as he did. but the people in the circle surrounding them seemed intrigued.
“Can I respin?” Harold asked, fidgeting with his hands
“No.” Heather said, so both Duncan and Harold walked to the closet
Harold walked slowly and nervously, his head down. They both reached for the door, their hands accidentally touching. They both pulled away immediately.
god I hope I never have to touch him again.
Once inside, both Duncan and Harold sat down. Harold took off his glasses, “when you beat me up, just try not to break these, they were around 300$, okay?” Harold said and put the glasses on a shelf in the closet.
Duncan’s response to this was to pick them up and snap them in half.
“Gosh!” Harold protested, but before an argument could be made, Duncan used the broken end of the glasses to hit Harold across the face, leaving a cut. Duncan dropped the glasses and used his fist this time, punching the ginger haired boy across the face, then the stomach, to which Harold crouched forward. Duncan pushed him on his back, knocking the breath out of him. Duncan sat on top of his legs and pulled his hair back.
Then Duncan leaned towards Harold’s face, “you said you wanted this didn’t you?”
“No I fucking didn’t!” Harold defended, “but I expect something like this from you!” He glared at Duncan as Duncan continued to smile.
“Well would you expect something like…this?” He said, but before Harold could react,
Duncan leaned in and kissed him.
Harold’s eyes grew wide in shock. He would never imagine, Duncan of all people to kiss him, he saw this as an opportunity though.
His hands traced up behind Duncan’s neck, earning a hum from Duncan. he proceeded to undo the choker he was wearing and grabbed it, carefully. Then he pushed Duncan off of him, giving him a good couple of punches before pinning him against the closet wall. He flipped the choker to the spiky side, and pressed it against Duncan’s neck, proceeding to choke him.
Duncan struggled for air but Harold could tell, he was enjoying this. His cheek grew red as he saw Duncan smirk, to which Harold leaned in, ultimately pressing the choker harder against the other boy’s neck, and kissed him again.
They stayed like that for a while, pulling away a couple times for breath before going back. Duncan grabbed Harold’s waist and pulled him closer, Harold then wrapped his arms around Duncan, and for some reason..he never wanted to let go.
It wasn’t that he liked Duncan or anything maybe he was just lonely tonight.
Or maybe he did, maybe he liked switching between kissing and fighting, maybe he just wanted a nice blend of Duncan’s lips and fists…
