Duncan is not actually his name, he doesn't know what it is. But everyone else had always called him 'Dunk'

He is described as 'hugely tall for his age, a shambling, shaggy, big-boned boy of sixteen or seventeen years (no one was quite certain which) who stood closer to seven feet than to six'

yes he is still a teenager in the books

He is depicted as having longer hair than in the series, like down past his shoulders (very majestic)

He doesn't know how to read or write

Does not smell surprisingly -- his old master made him bathe every night even if Duncan felt clean

Came up with the name 'Ser Duncan the Tall' on the spot

When he first saw Tanselle he thought "is it me she smiles at, or the coins?" bc in the book he gives her money for the dragon performance

'Dunk had never been with a girl, and they made him nervous.'

When they meet he also thinks, 'A pretty girl, and tall. I would not have to kneel down to kiss that one'
