dungeonFebruary: a retrospective
here they are, all four maps edited together into a single dungeon over two floors!
it was a lot of fun to draw it, highlights (of both rooms and monsters) and further thoughts under the cut :D

dungeonFebruary: a retrospective
here they are, all four maps edited together into a single dungeon over two floors!
it was a lot of fun to draw it, highlights (of both rooms and monsters) and further thoughts under the cut :D
week 3!
highlights include; the designroom connected to that clone lab from last week (complete with working gun-wall!), a room with two chambers labeled imaging and response, and a large control panel wich can do stuff like start playing caramelldansen with a light show, or self destruct the entire facility :D
first week (+ 1 day) is done!!
the concept is that this is a lair built inside a mountain by an evil scientist, the structure was revealed a few weeks ago in game time by a chunk if the mountain falling and taking parts of room 1 (and maybe more) with it
this first spread feutures such things as; a storage room wich will disapear anything left in it for more than 30 minutes, a portal that will teleport you to a random room, a secret passage in the library, and some other fun stuff
i am finding this challenge quite fun and the likelihood of me doing the full thing next year is high, but im very happy that im doing this mini-version first since i am figuring out stuff i would like to do different as i work
week 4 (and thus the challenge) is done!
im a bit sad its over, but ill talk about that more when i post a retrospective/full overview of the dungeon
this week includes one of my fave dungeon rooms wich i keep reusing; a super trapped vault room only containing a book of bad and embarrassing love poetry, a lab with organ-like machines on a workbench and a large conspiracy wall (talking about immortality, death, and space pirates), And the elevator out of the dungeon, wich contains a final trap with the potential of doing 2d20 damage
yeahhhhh boyyyyy
1 day down, 28 to go! ill do updates once each spread of 7 (8 for this first one) rooms are done, i might even sprinkle in some of the lore ive come up with :3
i didnt find out about dungeon23 (dungeon24 now i guess) untill i personally felt it was too late to join, also i wasnt sure if i could commit to a whole year
however i have been reading the book for into the odd in preparation for running it for my groups, and i find the way the dungeons are set up really inspiring in the context of making my own dungeon
so what im looking at now is doing a sort of trial run in february (draw a room a day, add some possible encounters, that sort of thing) to see if i would be up for doing a whole year or not and then possibly joining in for 2025!
this means that i only have a few days to figure out how i want to structure it and possibly make a simple booklet or something to draw/write in, and also if i want to do weekly check-ins here
second week is done! (and a bit smaller than week 1, ive been busy, sue me)
this time we have a lab split in two with a force field (thus counting as two days), an unnaturally dark room with lego stuff on the floor, and a clone lab with a chute wich will lead to a design room, because my media references are predictable as shit
i have counted my squares so the two first weeks should line up perfectly if i were to edit them together, the two weeks left will be on a second level so thry dont have to make structural sense with weeks 1 and 2, but they should connect correctly with each other
