Dunk-a-roos: Love at first bite

When Betty Crocker rolled out Dunk-a-roos in 1990, lunchrooms in schools anywhere from timbuktu to Wyoming were changed forever.  Whoever would whip out their lunchbox to reveal the most coveted snack of all time would be rewarded with any food trade you can imagine.  We are talking the kitchen sink and then some.

One time I traded the dunk-a-roos with chocolate frosting for three days in a row of mcdonald’s, taco bell, and Lunchables.  Who in their right mind would surrender three all star lunches for a Dunk-a-roos?  Well they were the Michael Jordan of the kid snack world throughout the 90s, and 2000s.  Unfortunately they were discontinued in 2012.  These days you can still go north of the border to pick up the most legendary sweet tooth cure of all time. Sorry Mallomars, but you just don’t stand a chance when put up against the one and only, Dunk-a-roos.  Maybe it is time for a trip up to Canada so I can stock up for life on the best cookie and frosting combination of all time.  Happy weekend folks.

Glad to know other people think that cinnamon bun Oreos taste like Dunk-a-roos (the vanilla icing ones). Apparently the cookies were cinnamon at one point so if Nabisco got the creme formula down, that makes a bit of sense. Apparently they’re only sold in Canada so if other Americans miss em, maybe try the Oreos if you can. Worth a shot.
