There as been many hints that gw2 character is the same soul, doesn't matter if you are human, charr, asura etc. Dunkoro is the first the comes to mind. Dunkoro says "Your spirit feels familiar. Is it answers that you seek?" as a heart npc. So this notion is canonized as I remember other hints as well during the storyline.
