"Adios birds, clouds, butterfly and pixels"
Yesterday, my animated Twitter background stopped moving.
Back in June 2011, I wanted to show my graphic designs and marketing creativity and stand out from the Twitter flock at the same time.
I was one of the first to create a Twitter animated background for my profile and until yesterday, I was one of the few among the 645,000,000 (1) Twitter profiles that exist in the whole wide world, to still have movement on my Twitter profile page.
What made this background special was the fact that I had integrated a QR Code as well in the animated background. I was also one of the first advocate for this marketing tool.
Later, in October 2011, Twitter decided not to accept animated gif backgrounds on their platform.
However Twitter kindly allowed me to keep the animated background in place, that is why I never changed it.
It made me feel proud and special. I want to thank the Twitter team for letting me enjoy it from June 2011 to February 2014. It was pure joy and I’ll be forever grateful!
The background was not visible via tablets or smartphones but It was part of my view everytime I was accessing Twitter via my desktop.
I will miss my animated background but as Dr. Seuss said:
"Don’t cry because it’s over, Smile because it happened!"
That’s it for today, see you tomorrow.
