I have Succumbed to the Middle School MemorIes Riptide. RIP.

For reference: I was scrolling for suggested videos on my Nostalgia playlist on YouTube and found ‘Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites’ and was like, “Ha! I forgot about that song! I used to listen to it all the time in Middle School*!”

And then. Like a dumbass. I clicked on it. And woke up The Middle Schooler™️ in my head, that had been locked up for Crimes Against My Heart™️.

I have now been listening to Skrillex songs from the 2010s for the past hour, despite it being past 12 am. I am. Sad about The Middle Schooler™️ in my head.

(*because my best friend in Middle School was super into dubstep.

He was a gay Puerto Rican teen boy in a rural Kentucky Middle School. He was trying to live his life as well as he could; dupstep made him happy and despite it not being my favorite thing, I’d listen to it with him to make him smile. I mean, I had a ‘crush’ on him, but that turned out to be more of a ‘Same Hat!!!’ thing.)
