In general beauty lovers can be a bit fickle, flitting between brands and products like restless butterflies in the hopes of finding the next big thing. Mind you, I only feel confident saying that because I know I'm guilty of it too - I have a few staples that work for me, but other than that it's anyone's game. To be fair though, there's nothing quite like finding new potions and lotions that actually do what they say on the tin to make your heart sing. Here are a few of my new favourite things...
Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow "Shore": Long days on set often mean I'm putting on my make-up at 6am or 7am and then not looking in the mirror until I get home in the evening, which makes long wearing products an essential! "Shore" is a beautifully soft, matte tone which can act as a base for eye shadow or as a stand alone shade, once applied it stays in place and there's no need for retouches.
Origins GinZing Eye Cream: (Above) Refreshing and soothing, this eye cream is definitely the best I've found on the market for making tired eyes feel and look more alive. The pink tone neutralises dark circles whilst caffeine and ginseng extract work to reduce puffiness by 87% - meaning early starts are a doddle, well, at least as far as your eyes go!
Givenchy Photo'Perfexion Foundation: Full coverage foundations usually leave skin looking a little duller than their lighter weight counterparts but that's not the case with Givenchy's Photo'Perfexion. This glides seamlessly onto skin, covering imperfections and leaving a soft glow. It's suitable for any skin type but if you have oily skin a mattifying primer will keep skin looking fresh all day.
Duralash Individual Lashes: I've been using these a lot on set recently as they are unique in the fact that there are no visible knots/bulbs on them, meaning they sit completely flush with the natural lash line. The combo pack offers the choice of short, medium and long lashes so you can tailor them to suit any eye shape.
Origins and Bobbi Brown are available in Arnotts, Givenchy in Debenhams. Duralash are available in Drury St Beauty Supplies.
