Full coverage vs Natural look

Hi guys,

In my comments recently I have been asked to recommend foundations and natural face base products so today I wanted to chat you through my two favourite products I have used the most over the last few months.

Depending on my mood I will grab either of these products when I'm getting ready for work. If my skin looks a little tired and has a few blemishes I am more likely to grab my Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation 1N, £34.00. This foundation is a full coverage matte foundation that is perfect for long days when you want something that is really going to last. Out of all my matte foundations this is still my favourite to this day and I think the reason is because out of all my matte foundation this feels by far the lightest on my skin and isn't thick or cake my skin. So any time someone asks me to recommend a matte full coverage foundation this will always be my first suggestion easily.

However if you prefer something a lot lighter and basically gives you that no makeup makeup vibe then I suggest the Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint, £25.00 shade 2. This skin tint has a sheer to medium coverage that blurs your skin without actually covering your skin. While it does offer coverage sooth your skin it still gives you that skin like finish for a super lightweight barely there finish. On days where I don't want to wear much makeup or anything I throw this on and it evens my complexion to look like I'm wearing more makeup then I actually am. I always recommend this product for people who are starting to wear makeup and need something light or prefer the natural makeup look.

How To: Stick Foundation Tips & Tricks

Max Factor Pan-Stik was first launched in 1947 and has become one of the most famous foundation sticks in history.  An easy product to use, perfect for tossing in your handbag, touching up on the go, traveling, or simply just giving a little more coverage in the areas where needed, stick foundations can be a must-have. Although stick foundations definitely come a long way in the past 70 years, they can still use a little help here and there to perform at their very best. We’ve rounded up a bunch of tips and tricks you can use to improve the application, wear, and finish of even the most difficult formulas.

  Warm Up The Product

Unlike liquid foundations which easily melt and blend into the skin instantly, stick foundations may require a little more work. Due to their solid formulation they can often lean on the waxy side and they may need a helping hand to blend into the skin easily. Swiping the stick across the back of your hand can warm up the product, causing it to soften and apply and blend more easily.

  Use a Brush to Blend

Stick foundations generally need to be worked into the skin to look the most natural and beautifully seamless. Whilst sponges and beauty blenders can be a great beauty tool, they often tend to be incompatible with stick foundations due to their tendency to absorb excess product. Instead, try using a dense kabuki style buffing brush to work the product into the skin and effortlessly blend it, alternatively you can also use your fingers.

Mix Formulas!

Mixing formulas, textures, and products can be a great way to make a product more user-friendly (provided they are compatible) mixing a little moisturiser or with your foundation stick on the back of your hand can give the product a more hydrating tendency. Mixing a primer can change the effect of the product to be  longer lasting, mattifying, colour correcting, or illuminating. For the very best results, face oils and primer oils (Such as Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Radiance Drops) can completely reinvent a dry, waxy, foundation stick. A drop or two of oil can make a product more emollient, giving it more slip and making it an easier consistency to work with.

  Use it as Concealer

Stick foundations provide great coverage, but they can often feel thick and heavy when used on the whole face. Because of this, stick foundations make great concealers! Simply swipe the product underneath your eyes (or use a brush or your finger to apply the product to the skin) over redness or pigmentation. For breakouts and pimples use a small precise brush to carefully spot conceal the product onto the affected area as using the stick directly may spread bacteria.

Hey guys,

So a few month ago now Huda Beauty released a new version of the #FauxFilter foundation! Now this foundation is iconic and one of their most famous products from their collection! Basically if you were ever looking for a full coverage foundation pretty much every foundation is compared the the #FauxFilter foundation !

Now the difference between the first foundation realise and this new vermeil is this foundation had a luminous Matte finish. FYI the original was a more luminous satin finish which was perfect for dry to normal skin types but for us oily folk it wasn’t the best though I did make mine work for me.

So the new #FauxFilted Luminous Matte Full Coverage Liquid Foundation is  £34.00 like the original and the packaging is identical to the original packaging which is funny when I need to remember which is which. Luckily for me when this range was released a few of the shades changed so in the original foundation I wore Angel Food 110N and in this new foundation formula I was recommended the shade Vanilla 120B which now is my perfect match. Compared to the original formula it is still full coverage, long lasting with up to 24 hours of wear but this time it is a luminous matte no fragrance formula. According to the release video Huda listened to all her fans and designed a upgraded foundation to suit those who it didn’t work for the first time. Genius really because there’s 2 options now to suit more people.

Personally I am such a fun of the new formula because the coverage is amazing and does give your skin a glow but it is defiantly a more matte formula which I personally prefer. I’m not the biggest fan of glowy foundations because I have oily skin but I have been experimenting more lately. When I wear the original formula I definetly feel like I need to powder my face more but when I wear the new formula I don’t even feel like I need to use powder to set my face. This foundation is iconic for giving you the perfect full coverage radiant finish that is life proof. When I’m wearing a face mask and I have this foundation on I know I don’t need to worry about it moving or fading which is even better especially now in it’s matte formula. So if you want to try a foundation that is really full coverage, reliable and looks amazing on the skin you really should try this out. Now if you have tried the original foundation and you weren’t too sure about it I would really recommend trying this foundation because I really prefer it over the original formula. Hi guys,

Now i have been testing out XX Revolution for a few weeks now I wanted to give you a foundation and concealer update! For those who didn’t see my original post Revolution have released a new collection (which you could argue is their drugstore luxury brand) XX Revolution which is a new collection of products ranging from £5.00 going up to £28.00. Of course this range is still extremely affordable compared to a lot of other brands and in this collection they released 2 types of foundation glowy and matte so I picked up the matte foundation and the concealer.

The foundation is called XX Revolution Liquid Skin FauXXdation Double FiXX Foundation ,£15.00 and I have the shade Fx2 which is fair skin with pink undertones. This foundation is a silk full coverage finish that is a more satin matte finish and is the ingredients include Vitamin E and Hyaluronic Acid to treat your skin. The concealer is called XX Revolution ConcealXX Super FiXX Concealer £10.00, and again I got the shade fx2 to match the foundation. Like the foundation it also has a satin full coverage finish. This concealer is designed to be long wear and lifestyle proof lasting all day. This concealer is designed to brightens skin, covering blemishes, dark circles and redness, with no flashback.

Wearing these products together feels so different to your normal foundation feeling so much more lighthweight in the skin. Since wearing these products I have also found my skin is looking a lot better which I wasn’t expecting. Since this range is a skincare mixed with makeup it clearly helps to improve your skin while you’re wearing the products which for me has worked brilliantly. I always thought Conceal & Define was my favourite foundation but I think this new range might be my favourite all together. The coverage lasts all day and with my matte primer feels so smooth on the skin.

Hey guys,

Anyone who lives in the UK will know that recently Boots has expanded a lot of their premium beauty ranges and now they do a lot of American brands that for ages were really hard to get your hands on. For years I’ve seen a lot of you tubers featuring Milani in makeup tutorials but because you couldn’t find this brand in many shops I didn’t want to order anything online in case I got the wrong colour match. But lucky for me Boots now sell the full range of Milani and have a stand in their Oxford Street branch !!!!!!!! When I saw the stand next to the NYX range I freaked out a little and decided it was time to finally try out their foundation and concealer and see if it’s worth the hype.

With this brand I’m really happy I saw it in shop because the shade colour that matched me perefectly weren’t what I expected my colour match to be and me being pale means I really do need to try out the shade samples first. So let’s chat the foundation ‘Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-In-1 Foundation’ this foundation is described as “Perfect for your under eye circles, redness and other skin imperfections with our water-resistant, foundation + concealer in one flawless”. This foundation is a lightweight medium to full coverage foundation that is oil free and has long lasting abilities. I picked up the shade 0A3 Warm Porcelain which when I was looking online I thought that would be too dark for me but in reality it was the perfect match. This foundation really surprised me with the coverage because like the package said I was expecting a medium coverage but I would say that full coverage 100%. The foundation is oil free which left me with a gorgeous matte finish and when I first wore the product I used a mattifying moose moisteriser to see how it worked and lasted all day without creasing stayed mattifyied.

I also picked up the ‘Milani Conceal + Perfect Long Wear Concealer’ in the shade Nude Ivory. The concealer is described as a “Creamy, full coverage, water-resistant makeup that instantly conceals and lasts up to 12 hours. Perfect for concealing under-eye circles, blemishes and skin discoloration.”. It also contains Vitamin E to help replenish skin’s moisture. This concealer is one of the most full coverage concealers I’ve used in quiet a while and it blends like a dream with the foundation. What I like most about this product is a little goes a long way and the brush really picks up a lot of product so one go at the concealer really leaves enough product for both under eyes and covering blemishes on the skin.

So far I’m really like using Milani products they are surpringly really lightweight yet full coverage products and what makes the products so different to others I’ve used is that it doesn’t include any oils so it helps make the formula much more Longwearing instead of sliding off after a few hours. I’m really excited I finally got to try out this brand and it’s definitely worth the hype!!!!!

Now just to tell you how long lasting this product is I was so tired the other night coming home from work I actually fell asleep wearing my makeup which included both these products and when I woke up the next morning my face was perfect, the product didn’t slide out of place and still had coverage under my eyes. Now I don’t recommend ever sleeping with your makeup on and I normally don’t do this but ironically it was a great way to test out the foundations lasting abilities.
