We were very excited to welcome our Patron HRH The Princess Royal to @JerseyZoo yesterday to officially open our Butterfly Kaleidoscope. 🦋

HRH toured the zoo with our CEO Dr Lesley Dickie & met some of our amazing team &, of course, the wonderful animals. 🦧🐢

Took these shots of some incredible emerald tree boas from the Durrell Conservation Trust zoo in Jersey. I can’t help but to proud of how they turned out!

henrycavill: Yesterday I was running around a bit so I missed the chance to post about Endangered Species Day! Better late than never though eh! This is a picture of me holding a critically endangered Ploughshare Tortoise. While at the Durrell Zoo over the weekend I had the opportunity to get close to this little guy and make friends. Just "adopted" this sweet girl!! Best Birthday present ever (it's tomorrow) She is in the loving care of Durrell zoo and I'm honored to support her.

"Bahia’s story…

She’s a Princess…

or her markings would suggest it! Whilst Andean bears are also known as ‘spectacled bears’ due to their eyeglass markings, Bahia’s are missing… but they left her with a ‘Tiara’ instead! A fair trade, we think."

As an optical technician, I thought having a spectacled bear would be a fitting match for me. I hope to meet this lovely lady some day 😍

Jersey, Durrell (Jersey) Zoo - The exotic luscious pink feathers stand out brightly against the earthly background. This beautiful species, the Chilean Flamingo (Phoenicopterus chilensis), is also on Durrell zoos conservation programme as their current status is near threatened.
