Durzogs the sequel to dogs. They did not look like durzogs to me at first but now that I have spent a day looking at them my brain is fully convinced this is what a durzog is. Can’t draw them from the front tho
I wanted 2 combine things I liked about Morrowind Durzogs (Ambiguous Polygons) and Online Durzogs (Emaciated Cacti) and put more soft tissue on it. From the Polygons I like the front-heavy look, the simpler (but still inexplicable…?) teeths, and it not being over the top pointy. From the Cactus I highly enjoyed the introduction of external ears (hard to see in that screenshot), and the introduction of a pale feathered northern region variant. I absolutely just didn’t see the large hook claws on the front legs of both versions until literally just now. Whoops. Oh well.
If you think, “oh but op, you drew your pass so cutesy,” you are correct. The above canon designs are already rather cute to me, it is inevitable
For my pass at Durzogs, I gave it lips to protect its teeth, and made those two bottom teeth tusks. I wanted to keep the top tusks as well but I couldn’t balance it in a way I liked so, while they’re still large teeth, they’re stored under the lip flap now. I wasn’t sure how to interpret the Polygons’ tail situation, so I opted to take some inspiration from ceratopsian dinosaurs like Psittacosaurus and have quill type things partway down its tail. Shedded quills can be used for Decorations, very nice considering how goblins like to keep durzogs yeah? The rest of the details are mostly just Taste I think. I wasn’t quite vibing with the stripes on the ESO Cactus and it just felt good giving them a “mask” kinda pattern. I also took inspiration from what I assume were supposed to be eardrums on the Ambiguous Polygons and gave the regular durzog some eyespots, because false eyes are fun
Thanks for accompanying me on Durzog Quest 2020
