Here’s to hoping that your Halloween is filled with even a fraction of the mischief and fun that these little critters are having 🎃
today I bring you 𝔫𝔢𝔠𝔯𝔬𝔟𝔦𝔫𝔡𝔢𝔯, tomorrow? who knows....?
Eternity
And how they unlived happily ever after.
I’ve always enjoyed it when a game leaves its ending open enough to keep the story alive long after the credits roll. This piece is set after the events of Dragon Age: Veilguard, in my own little “what comes next” space.
In my version of the story, Agatha lives out her full mortal life with Emmrich and eventually pursues lichdom. Not to escape death, but to remain closer to it, keeping watch over her beloved home, the Grand Necropolis. And to make the ending a little more sappy (there’s enough loss in real life, so let me have this), she also gets to spend eternity with the man she loves.
And finally, Agatha has all the time in the world for her corpse beetle collection. 🪲
Papercraft commission of the client's undead lich tiefling cleric Casimir! I was SO excited to make him when I saw his design - incredible jewelry? Fancy shackles? Exposed ribcage?? COOL MAGIC SKELTON GUY ENROBED IN THE MOST DRAMATIC BEJEWELED FINERY?? Needless to say, I had a wonderful time.
Reminder: there are lots of cooler and more fitting terms for the object a lich keeps its soul in than phylactery (which is the Greek-derived English name for a Jewish ritual object which has nothing to do with souls, magic, or necromancy).
Instead try:
Reliquary
Necromancer's Amulet
Koschei's Needle
Soul jar
Soul vessel
Soul cage
Soul gem
Honestly, I'd be happier to hear horcrux than for you to keep trying to tie Jewish people to necromancy, whether that's your intention or not.
