Hey this is gonna be a short series of rambles I posted on discord mildly edited to make a coherent post, as suggested by my one friend. oh and long post, but i've put in a break in the middle for you.
I'm thinking about the future and sonic cd, as one might find themselves doing while listening to the soundtrack. First i'm gonna give you a run down of your first playthrough. You'll finish the first zone and reach the third act, having spent the whole time in this lush tropical paradise. In the JP version of the soundtrack people cheer, and the us version sounds like a tropical vacation. All of that changes in act 3.
The trees are gone. Strange mechanic pillars stand in their place. Toxic waters flow, a mockery of what this place once was. That F in the corner isn't your grade: it confirms what this is. The future. Your future. But the main gimick of this game is that you can change the future if you try hard enough. So what if we do better. As a gamer you feel yourself compelled to at least try, right?
The game teaches harmony with nature which on is own isn't very unique, but rather then claim we have to go back to living in the forest and eating nuts and berries in order to live with nature..We can use our great industry and aid nature while living along with this.
Because of limited resources cd has to show these highly Mechanized futures but.. Really good actually. Palmtree panic is of course just hte begining.
Metallic madness is the final zone this time. Like most sonic games it's a devious mechanical lair. No nature in site
But in a future worth striving for: The city of tomorrow..
Lush greenery mixed with man made fountains and devices There's a place for nature in our future. We don't have to gate off nature and civilization. You can do both But above all.. This song always makes me think of this.
The normal versions are a mechanical menacing mess.. Voices, sirens, a pressing danger. But with enough work this is what a good future looks like.
Peace can be loud. A mix of natural wind instruments with dnb elements.
This is the world I want to live in one day. I hope we get to see it together. But if we can't quite do that..
We can at least assure a good future for those who come after us

*As the espeon is caressing the umbreon’s cheeks with the scarf by using powers to move it the umbreon would feel that the scarf feels like gentle paws even thoo it doesn’t look that way, the scarf coming right out of the portal as it’s bigger than before, the umbreon would see the Espeon being deep inside of a cave, the only light sourse seems to be something purple glowing in and out on the top of the cave’s walls, and it seems to be like a room in there*
I do appologise for scaring you thoo, I didn’t know what this device of mine did back then~... Hehe~... but now I know more how to use it~...
