id always wanted to do a piece inspired by some of the unique pottery I own. I always joke that this is my Dragon Hoard lol. Ryuuji being one of my favorite characters, and his name literally meaning dragon. It only felt right to put the two together. I wanted this to represent how thorny things can be quite beautiful. pain is a part of the process, and transformation always leads to a better, brighter you. The serpent has to shed its skin eventually. The scars are part of the adornment
Ryuuji is just becoming an OC atp. I was inspired by the many cultures i associate him with. Colombia, India, China and Japan. and i wanted to represent those parts of him in this art, through patterns, textiles, pottery, plant life , and beautification through body modding. creating a whole from the many parts. the beautiful intertwining of being very mixed in a very rigid world. carving out our own identities through art and expression.
