It’s ... a bit more complicated? Because the words are close enough for 99% of everything you might possibly use them for, but in this one instance, it doesn’t work, because the idea isn’t merely ‘inspect’ but also ‘gather’ and ‘make ready’, and English doesn’t really seem to get that part of it across?

it’s so fun to play with all those names, change the tone just by using a different name or title, but sorting them out into making sense is hell

But they definitely didn’t have a clean slate. A wide range of interest groups from merchants to landowners, slaveholders, soldiers and religions, and vastly different ambitions- the constitution is literally the great compromise.

Okay, fair enough. It’s still pretty darned clean compared to, uh... roughly 5 centuries of adding various independent and dependent states on various treaties and conquests, foreign invasions, various attempts at religious reform, a rather surprising number of wars, and all that in a place where four different languages were spoken officially...

Like, the great lines they worked out are great, but the details are severely lacking to quite an extent, and a lot of it seems due to personal ambition and thinking in terms of individual states instead of a federation? There seems to be a whole lot of well-meant theory, but sometimes a rather striking lack of practical application?

It’s not so much the angles, though, it’s more like... on a stage, you only need to have the actors moving, the rest will take care of itself. But having actors and a camera moving is a bit... tricky. I mean, I’ll need to know at least the rough lines of what the camera does or doesn’t see?

... This is going to be a mess. And so much fun.
