heyo! my younger sibling is wanting to bind and I was curious if you thought a certain age was / wasn’t okay to start binding? And if you’d have any ‘first binder’ recs for a young teen? ty for your time
Hello! I don’t think there’s a specific age line for anything, honestly, because we all develop and grow differently at different times. As with a lot of things about binding, I think this is very personal and body-specific, and it’s up to your sib (and the folks around them they trust) to determine what feels good and what the needs are.
My first binder rec for folks who may change size in the future is always the relaxed fit. It can be taken in later if needed, but it can also be grown into.
Also, for teens, it is extra super-duper important to pay attention to your body and how you feel and do mindful check-ins with yourself throughout the day! Setting a phone alarm may be helpful to remind yourself to ask: how do I feel? Do I feel okay? Am I stiff anywhere? Sore?
Developing habits like that can ensure that if a binder that used to fit ever gets too tight, they’ll notice, and change it.
(This may seem very basic to some folks, but personally, as a severely closeted teen I spent almost a decade dissociating from my whole-ass body. If someone had taught me how to pause during the day and stretch and check to see whether or not I was in pain, I could’ve avoided so many issues.)
Thanks for asking, and I hope your younger sib’s journey goes really, really well!
6) What makes you feel powerful? 12) Which misconception about witches annoys you the most? 30) What outfit makes you feel the most witchy?
Hey starlight, thanks for the ask!
6) What makes you feel powerful? - Working with my tarot cards! I'm getting pretty good at reading them, and it helps me feel connected to my magic
12) Which misconception about witches annoys you the most? - That only cis girls can be witches. That's entirely untrue! Anyone can be a witch! Guys, gals, or non-binary pals
30) What outfit makes you feel the most witchy? - Actually the one im wearing right now lol. I have dark jeans on and my shirt that reads 'Gay Witch Coven' in rainbow font. The only thing I'm missing is my triple goddess earrings but those are still packed away somewhere
rng says answer q 21. obsession from childhood?
Hey starlight, thank you for the ask 💛
21: Obsession from childhood? - Oh stars, there were so many. The ones that stuck the longest is Sailor Moon and the movie Kiki's Delivery Service. I'd watch those repeatedly, almost every day for years.
