1. what does his bedroom look like? ( post-injury; new york city ) his bedroom is simple - a full bed with an old navy blue duvet and simple headboard alongside the right hand wall as you enter, a small three-drawer nightstand and a matching six-drawer dresser ( former on the right hand side of his bed, the latter against the wall opposite the door ), a lamp on the left hand side of his bed. there isn’t a decorative theme to speak of, although he does have a picture of his sister with her family, and a picture of him, his parents, and his sister from right before he left for college, framed on his nightstand. there’s a small degas print his sister had bought for him on his last visit in one of her efforts to make his apartment look more lived in, and he’d hung it up at first to humor her and then because he’d gotten used to it and it reminded him to call her once every few weeks at the very least. altogether, his room is obviously inhabited, but most of his ‘clutter’ can be found in the main room of his apartment, not his bedroom. he doesn’t spend too much time in there.
2. does he have any daily rituals? ( post-injury; new york city ) when he wakes up each morning, he spends a bit of time cleaning himself off - he doesn’t take a shower every day, because it’s a nuisance and more difficult than he’d like to admit - and putting on his prostheses, brushes his teeth & hair, exercises a bit, y’know, normal stuff. then on weekdays, on his way to the office, he’ll stop at a café a block from his place and have a cup or two of coffee while reading the paper. any rituals generally take place in the morning, because once he gets to work, there’s no telling what he might end up having to do or where he might end up having to go. and, oftentimes, his work takes him on trips, which disrupts his daily routine. so he’s learnt not to put much stock in ritual, and doesn’t get too worried when things change with little to no warning. in fact, he likes it when life throws surprises and irregularities his way.
3. does he exercise, and if so, what does he do? how often? ( post-injury; new york city ) before his injury, he’d generally get his exercise in via running in the mornings and sparring with his agency pals in the gym from time to time. afterwards, however, these things became significantly more inconvenient. his regimen now involves various modified exercises repeated as close to daily as he can get them, mostly having to do with strengthening his abdominal and back muscles.
