A/N: Bruh, you want me to write about my own character? I have never been more flattered in my life that out of every character on the internet, you picked mine to request. I haven’t been on tumblr in a bit and this made my goddamn day.
D-reams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?
Dux had no preference in the beginning. Where he and Y/N end up is where they end up. As long as their ending is together, their journey to that end does not matter to him.
After the injury, he began to think more on it. Now, he has visions of a permanent home in the underground where they act as a hub of information for government take-downs, take in disenfranchised kids and teenagers, provide medicine to the poor, and fuck often and everywhere without having to be quiet about it.
I - nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?
Hell yeah they did. Dux’s race is one that almost no one in the galaxy knows about because they are some of the scariest and strongest race ever encountered and they are hostile. They do not allow outsiders to even step foot on their planet because the last time a colonizer did, said colonizer took note of their skin and their eyes and decided ‘I’m gonna kill one and sell their hides for money.” Colonizer was immediately shredded on a galatic broadcast as a warning. Suffice to say, they trust no one.
As a result, they rarely ever leave their planet for anything other than a galactic nuclear war. They are raised to protect themselves, their people, and their secrets. Dux - being a rebel right outta the womb - left his planet as soon as he got his license and went off exploring because his people know almost nothing about other cultures because of how closed off they are. He literally left his planet to go learn things. Think big ole nerd on a motorcycle.
That said, he was still very much closed off when it came to interacting with people. He also struggled to understand why people did things just ‘for the fun of it.’ He learned things but he never interacted and he was always disguised so he wouldn’t be hunted. He isn’t dumb.
Now, when Y/N came into the picture, he immediately identified them as a human - one of the weakest races in the galaxy - and got the biggest shock of his life when this squishy, tiny* human had the balls to rob a police station just to prove they could.
*Note: most species are tiny compared to Dux so Y/N could be 6′5 and still be tiny to him. The average male on his planet is like 7′2. The females are often bigger at like 8′0.
He stuck around with them after that, just to see where Y/N took him. If anything, he wanted to see if he could have fun. As a result, and much to his chagrin, he started becoming more open and friendly to others. He is hesitant to share his knowledge of his people but he is more than happy to share things about himself now.
J-ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?
You’d think he would be, given all the trust issues he was ingrained with, but he really isn’t and it has to do with the fact that he is confident of who he is and where he stands with Y/N in their lives and relationship. He and his Y/N argue and disagree - especially since they became literal outlaws together for the greater good - but they are really good at compromise and communication. They don’t yell or scream. They take walks to calm down when they are too in their feelings to deal with something. All that good stuff.
That in mind, Dux knows that he isn’t the only one who exclusively things his lover is attractive. (And yes, he had to sit in the bath for hours when he realized he had an attraction to someone of a different species because one, that has never happened before - to him or to anyone on his planet, two - he would be disgraced if they found out, three - he realized it while getting shot at by space pirates and it was inconvenient). Dux knows that others are going to flirt, drop innuendo, all that stuff to his Y/N.
He doesn’t like it but he can’t stop it.
So he takes his cues from his lover. If they find it harmless, he does too. If they are uncomfortable, he’s on standby. If someone doesn’t take no for an answer, he drops them to the ground like a sack of potatoes.
At the end of the day, he trusts his Y/N. He has no reason to be jealous when he gets Y/N.
O - n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?
Dux in love is like normal Dux but with pet names and kissing added. Being in love doesn’t really change the relationship all that much tbh. When he and Y/N were only friends and partners, he respected them, found them to be a good balance for him (where he was weak, they were strong and vice versa). He shared a bed with them because sometimes money was tight. He ate with them. He had fun with them. He had their back in a fight (even when Y/N was just starting some shit to start some shit)
Now that they are together, he does all of that but drops using their name altogether and calls them various pet names in his native language. He’ll lean over and kiss them at random times in random places to show a bit of affection. He likes handholding when possible. They have sex.
Its probably the smoothest transition anyone has ever seen and it not obvious at all to those outside of the vigilante underworld. All their contacts spotted what was up right away.
V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?
The annoying little human that he shares his life and bed with is the only thing he will not let go of. He has always been pretty chill and adaptable - leaving his home was no issue, not having material goods is not an issue, he is quick to identify and resolve his moods, etc. He is a master of letting go.
But not with Y/N.
He has followed their lead the entire way into being a wanted criminal and he is pretty neutral about the whole thing. Yeah, stopping evil forces and pissing off the government is fun and all but if he had to choose between blowing up an planet and saving Y/N’s life, hands down he is picking Y/N and he will not feel bad for it.
Y/N may be angry at him for it but he’s fine with it because Y/N is alive to be angry in the first place. He does not believe in sacrificing for the greater good - a reflection of his upbringing - and will pick Y/N over any other person, possession, or planet.
X-OXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?
Dux is affectionate and enjoys kissing and cuddling and all that stuff when its appropriate. Casual settings with friends - absolutely. Alone in their room for the night - duh. On dates - you cannot stop him.
In the middle of a heist - no. When meeting up with a contact for a job - you may hold his hand. In a firefight - don’t be an idiot.
Z-eal - Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of?
As mentioned, he would blow up a planet to save his lover’s life. In the actual story, he went and hunted down actual strangers - putting himself in danger because who knows how hostile they were going to be to him - just to get Y/N some help. He did not sleep for two weeks so he could watch and make sure they were protected and that the people wouldn’t try and kill them while they were weak. After Y/N woke up, he took care of their physical therapy. When he was told Y/N probably wouldn’t ever be able to continue on doing vigilante stuff due to the permanence of their injury, his immediate reaction was to find a new place for you both to go to. He wasn’t going to abandon them, he was going to craft a new place for them to be together.
He would rearrange the universe to accommodate his lover.
