There were those in his coven that could sense spikes in powers, anomalies that spoke to something uncontrolled and potentially dangerous. Zi Xin did not possess that gift, but those that did were quick to fill him in on the details – quick to send him off to discover, judge, and eliminate the threat if need be. When he was approached by his parents and the other elders of his coven, told of a spike in power that might prove to be a problem, he didn’t hesitate to board the plane back to Asia. Despite the danger, it gave Zi Xin an excuse to return to his homeland – and any excuse to make that trip was a good one.
Except…
The threat proved to be something never seen before – at least not in the history of his coven. Or, in the very least, the way those powers were manifesting had never been seen before.
The amulet in his hand burned hot to the touch, heating his palm to uncomfortable levels. Zi Xin held onto it, though, dark eyes traveling the space between the talisman and the target of his location spell. A man, unsurprisingly, but posing no direct threat to anyone around him. Head tilted; confusion evident on his face as he watched him from across the street. Honestly, Zee didn’t know what he was waiting for…maybe some outward sign that the guy was evil, some flagrant display of violence…anything that would have justified his coven’s knee-jerk reaction to see the stranger dead.
But there was…
Nothing.
He appeared to be just another man, just another citizen going about his daily life without the slightest hint that a highly trained executioner had been tasked with ending his life. Perhaps the coven leaders had been wrong? Perhaps the locator spell on the amulet was wrong? Too many questions…questions that he usually didn’t have. The uncertainty with this assignment was…confusing to say the lease.
“Excuse me?” A simple greeting to catch his attention. “Your name is Fei, yes?” There, at least with that question he could make sure the person he was after and the person in front of him were one and the same. “If you are, then I think perhaps you and I need to talk. Quietly. About who you are…what you are…and what’s happening with your abilities. My name is Zi Xin, and I’ve been sent to find you.” Find. Not Kill. That could wait until this man proved to be an actual threat. Until then? Conversation would suffice. “May we talk?”
Sujin sticks his tongue out towards Fei, arms still crossed over his chest. "You are late though! I've been here for a while waiting!" He whines before returning his attention to the shop.
"...I wanted to wait for you." Sujin admits under his breath, feeling a tad flustered with himself. "It didn't feel right to go in without you and get mine." Though there were several times he wanted to go in and fall into the temptation that was the dairy goodness. / c. ( @dvizng )

they say that children get homesick frequently after finally leaving their home, even those who were impatient to leave in the first place. they miss their mother’s touch, the small of familiar food, the friends that they once had. they grow to miss what they once had and held dear. as for fei, what he missed most from his childhood was the innocence that came with it.
he found himself staring a bit too long at a group of teenagers clumped together as they talked and laughed much too loudly for his own liking. it wasn’t until he heard the call in mandarin that he snapped out of his daze, turning to look at rhys before furrowing his brows and promptly looking away again to avoid his gaze. he couldn’t bear it in that moment, not when he had that pathetic look on his face.
he took a deep breath, turning his back to rhys as he pulled a cigarette from his back pocket along with his lighter. he leaned against the car, his hand cupped over the cigarette against his mouth as he lit it quietly. after finally taking a drag, he lifted his head to release the smoke from his lungs slowly and steadily, his voice starting off as a murmur before he clears his throat and continues on.
“sometimes… i don’t even recognize myself. there are people i meet— they’re sweet. kind. i wonder if i could’ve stayed like that if i didn’t leave home,” he says, almost to himself as he leans his head back. “but then i think of how stupid and oblivious i’d be. ignorance is bliss, i suppose.”
While Fei talked to himself in the language of self-pity, Rhys managed to swipe the cigarette from Fei's unsuspecting hand. He didn't very much care for the other's reaction, nor did he pause to garner a response. Rhys threw the cigarette to the ground and stepped on it. When he pulled his foot away, the bud was still faintly smoking.
"Don't smoke around cars," He remarked, completely off-topic, and leaned against the car beside the other male. Really, Rhys didn't know what to say. He'd felt the same at times, the great "what if" popping in his mind when he was alone. Even though Rhys and Fei were as different as bananas and apples.
He could say something sarcastic, or not say anything at all. Choices, choices. "Do you regret it?" The question escaped before he could process it. And when he did...
Rhys crossed his arms and absently watched the teens enjoying themselves. They were loud, but he enjoyed the serenity found in carefree laughter.
a starter for @dvizng [ yixing && fei ]
being home has its ups and downs. maybe yixing is used to a more docile lifestyle in korea, but his old friends also seem to have a penchant for acting like prisoners who have just been released; they say they don’t frequent bars, but they’re oddly familiar with the owners of many of the establishments they’ve been dragging yixing to over the last few days.
he doesn’t deserve this. he came home to see his grandmother and maybe visit the liwan museum, but he’s only ever seen a throng of grinding people and way too many shot glasses being passed around and spilled. maybe he would have liked this back in high school, but he’s twenty-eight, goddamn it. he wants to see what’s left in his grandmother’s fridge, not what was someone drunk girl’s dinner two hours ago.
yixing leaves his friends in the crowd, certain that he can find his way back to them, but his shirt is sticking to his back and he hasn’t seen his face yet, but he’s pretty sure it’s pale as hell. his diaphragm collides with the bar counter, and he distances himself from the unimaginably tall guy next to him just so that he can stay away from more body heat (he’s hit his quota on that).
“jesus,” he mumbles under his breath, wiping the sweat off his brow with the back of his hand. “i could kill for a cigarette right now.”

[[ it is a glorious day off, so I am damned...
make me icons im so lazy
http://shadowraiths.tumblr.com/kwustatic. < -- 85 icons. And tbh, when I get all my old Anthem ones back in the next 400 years you can use them as well. I got like 1000 of those bitches but they’re 100x100 with a border.
I downloaded a few of Kris’ interviews to make new icons from though, so yeah, I’ll work on those sometime this weekend.
