He couldn’t do this anymore. He simply couldn’t. Waylon didn’t know how long he had been pounding and hitting the locked door, desperately trying to get out before The Groom returned. His hits eventually began to die out though, his head resting on the door with the last of them. “Fuck.” He whispered, eyes pricking with tears and bottom lip quivering. He repeated the word louder as the reality of everything set in.He was going to die here. He was going to be maimed and then killed. He was going to be maimed, raped, and either bleed out, die of infection, or be strung up. He kept repeating the curse word until he couldn’t get the sounds out anymore, shoulders shaking with the force of his cries and breath rapidly expanding and compressing his chest. Waylon pulled and tugged at his hair, voice somewhere between a sob and a scream as it echoed in the small room.

      approximately three minutes.  that’s how long it takes after whatever gary has in store for today is turned on for nate to slide his way closer to him. as usual, he doesn’t even bother to find out what it is before he’s intent on one thing  —  distracting  him from it.  he tunes out the intro while he presses his lips to gary’s neck.

          dark eyes stay  cast down at the tile of granny’s floor  &  he has to take a minute to catch his breath.  things shouldn’t feel as  different  as they did just yesterday  —  after all, they’d both known, or assumed, at least, that the other liked them.  it didn’t take long after their first midnight coffee trip to figure that out.  the only difference now was that it was  verified.   it already felt so  middle school,  the way that both of them seemed to be waiting for the other to do something, say something  ;  make a damn move already.  as if complying in the smallest way, nate dragged his gaze up to meet gary, seated in the same booth as the first time, as usual.  the  slightest  of smirks came to his lips as he made his way to the leather seat opposite gary.  the smirk was quickly dropped.  it felt almost  inappropriate,  given the circumstances.  neither of them had any reason to be smug.  they were both just as  vulnerable  as the other.  something new replaced the smirk  —  a smile, small yet genuine.  he’d mulled over his words from the second his hand had flung open the door,  &  yet he still came up empty.  he usually didn’t like when he was at a loss for words, but gary made it  different.  it was a change, but it proved the feelings were  real.  start simple, he decided.
