⋆☠routine☠⋆ ‹ ‹ sehun&open› ›
Everything in Dysneyville seemed to run on a bit of routine. The shady individuals wandered the night looking for their next fix, their next client, their next escape. The few citizens that tried to remain level with society outside the city hid away for fear of being caught up and dragged under with the rest of the scum that penetrated the place. And for Sehun, it was exhausting.
It always left him tired, and even worse it left him bored. Sure, not always, he could easily find distraction in his work as there never seemed to be a limit to people who were looking for some kind of thrill. But he didn’t like being stuck with only one thing, either, and even his clients became a bit of the routine that the city always offered. He wanted something else, something new. Of course, he had no idea how to go about that or even the exact means by which he aimed to achieve it, but he knew he was looking for it.
He sighed as he sat upon the steps to one of the abandoned buildings, chin resting in his palm, elbow on his knee. He knew the subtle changes of the night only too well, and he hated it. There was something utterly irritating about never being surprised, in never having things shaken up. At least, not in ways he wanted to consider. It seemed that lately he was somehow being confronted with his past, but that was a bit of shaking he didn’t care to deal with for the moment. He wanted something new, anything.

he was tired of seeing heavy clouds forbidding the sun to come out, tired of having his days always the same, with blood staining his shirt and little life left to be seen in his eyes. tiredness was all he could feel at that rate; or perhaps the fact it was his father’s death anniversary that could only allow him to carry such weight over his shoulders. fortunately, he had a perfect solution, one that was so easy and painless anyone would think of, for it could bring the oblivion nearer, at the reach of a hand holding a good shot of a drink.
three strides led him right to the front entrance of a well-known bar, and it didn’t take long and changwook was already feeling the familiar burning running down his throat, each sip a step closer to a night of peaceful sleep and no thoughts to fill his mind. regardless his usual bold nature, he admittedly prefered to run away from feelings in general, never knowing the right way to deal with them, and sadness, in such day, couldn’t be allowed to touch his soul -- it would be a shame in the eyes of his deceased father.
“if the old man saw me here like this, he’d say ‘son, a true man has to face his demons and deal with them, in whatever shape or form they come’---” sloppy, alcohol-filled words came from changwook’s mouth and soon an airy, yet humorless laughter could be heard as well, half-lidded eyes struggling to focus on the figure by his side, and even so, he didn’t care if they were paying attention or not, much too much lost into the joke only his drunk self catched. “and then he’d make me go home, as per usual. aish... always nagging about this and that. but hey, i can count on you to let me drink tonight, right? otherwise i’ll have to kick your ass as though in a polite way to tell you to fuck off. it won’t be pretty, though, but you surely know better and will mind your own business.” cold glass touched his lips once again as he flashed a small smirk to whoever he judged to be his companion.

Dark clouds hung overhead, and Sehun glanced up at them with an air of emptiness. It was all he seemed to be feeling anymore, as every moment little pieces of his true self slipped away, as the fragments broke apart, he could only feel himself unable to find any sort of comfort in Dysneyville. Not that it had ever been particularly welcoming with its dismal ways, but it was becoming worse and worse as each day progressed.
He’d just emerged from the apartment of one of his clients, nothing particularly interesting but enough to give him some spare cash for the next day. As usually followed one of his appointments, he only wished that he was able to find where he belonged. There was always a moment of discovery as he was on his knees before a client, of a simple and strange comfort that he would find himself. But he always ended up disheartened.
With a sigh, he dropped the cigarette from his fingers, stepping on it to put out the fire. He wasn’t aware, was lost in his own thoughts, when he suddenly heard some footsteps from near where he was. Normally that wouldn’t be so uncommon, but it was long after midnight, and most people weren’t about at this hour. All he could do was watch, maybe they would provide him with a moment of distraction.
