[hair]: length, colour, texture, whether it grows quickly or slowly, how manageable it is, whether it requires lots of styling, do they leave stray hairs everywhere, is it present on their face, is it present on the rest of their body, etc.
catharina’s hair has always been a pretty, light gold colour and even as a child she was very proud of it, letting it grow out until it reached her knees. when her hair was this long ( which it actually was until 1918, when she cut it short ) she often styled it in intricated ways with braids and ornaments and according to the latest fashions, something that did require some time. when she started wearing her hair mid-length after 1918, she still did follow the trends and styled her hair accordingly, which required an effort as well. in the present, she alternates between mid-length and very long hair, going with whatever she fancies since her hair tends to grow fast.she has always treated it with great care, washing it with soap and frequently soaking it in rose water, liking to keep it clean and soft & silky. she tries to keep her hair neat and tidy but it can become a bit disheveled when she’s occupied with other things such as waging war, painting, horseback riding, etc.
when it comes to facial hair, her eyebrows are the same colour as her hair but her lashes are a bit darker. the hair on her legs and overall body are quite light and she’s never really been into shaving it when that trend came around, though started doing so somewhere in the 70s. still, she doesn’t do so religiously, only when she feels like putting in the effort.
[build]: are they skinny and petite or do they resemble a body builder, are they tall or short or average height, are they lean and wiry, are they overweight, are all of their features proportionate, etc.
catharina has always been a bit petite with her 5′2 and wars over the centuries have certainly played part in keeping her fit, giving her more than enough exercise, though her passion for ballet and picking up tennis as a hobby also played part in keeping her fit, skinny, and lean through 18th - 21st century. she has a rather proportionate build, doesn’t has an hourglass figure but her waist is a bit smaller and she can certainly create the illusion of an hourglass figure with the right clothes and accessories.
during the two world wars, catharina’s build leaned towards dangerously thin due to the strain and the food shortages, especially in the second world war when she got tortured and send to buchenwald. this remained after she locked herself up in her castle when the war was done until the mid-50s when she started participating in life again.
