Rose woke up and sighed quietly, "its my birthday....but why does it feel like any other day?"
"Could you help me with it?" Luke asked, "Poetry really goes over my head."
"Why... why would you do that for me?"
Burned Collapse // OPEN
Coughing the Doctor hold up his hand to his forehead to shield his eyes from the blinding light of the flames almost all the way around him. There were people running out of the building and secondary explosions close enough for him to flinch and duck away. He got up and ran down the corridor towards the screams as someone crashed into from the side and send him stumbling into a wall. The Time Lord groaned in pain as his arm got a bit twisted by the impact, but nonetheless looked over at the other person. "It's fine. RUN! Out! This building will collapse within the next minutes. RUN! Out! Out!"
"I suggest you stop playing games with me, because I really am not in the mood for those. Out you come, little mouse. Come and meet your Master."
Slow Fog // OPEN
Slow. Everything felt so slow. His thought were merely a leaf falling into a big lake and eventually being pulled down into the deep, slowly moving through the layers of water. Thick fog overlaid the usually sunny Gallifreyan landscape in his mind, making it hard for a sane thought to get through.
The Doctor wasn't sure why or when it happened, but he just felt so tired. Not physically. Mentally. His mind was cutting him off from the universe and he didn't hear it sing nor felt it. It felt like floating in the void. Closing his eyes, the Time Lord let the book slip from his hands, letting it fall to the ground and rolled his head on the cushion of the armchair in his room. Drawing his legs up, he rubbed his eyes and let his elbows rest on his knees, crossing them in the air and letting his hands hang loose.
He couldn't sleep and didn't want to..not really. Slow thoughts were burning their way with dump pain through his mind. Questions upon questions without any matter. And yes, he noticed it when the door of his room opened, looking up shortly, just to look away again, eyes not even lighting up with any emotion. "I'm not in the mood. Let's make the trip another day, yes?" he uttered, his voice flat and absent.
The Morning After Three // Semi-OPEN for mutuals
Three. Three World Wars had the planet Earth seen and was almost driven into complete and utter destruction by the last nuclear weapons being dropped on cities once so beautiful. Everything was dust and ash and the population was imploding, lethal mutations and miscarriages resulted from the radiation were getting too likely for the people to consider setting a child into a rotten world like this.
And among deserted places, there were still people searching for hope and a future for human kind, but there was only one who was standing in front of a huge destroyed building, looking at it with sad eyes and who knew there actually was hope. Hope hidden in the ruins of the place that once was London.
"It's the Buckingham Palace, you know?.. Well it was.. And it was beautiful. I've had friends there when it all went down. When the human race choose to fight over nothing again and destroyed so much of their culture until there would be just glimpses left in a few centuries. Until a pop song would be declared a classic and this planet will burn for real.. But luckily for us it's not today and the loss of culture not unpreventable.. " he sighed, looking over at the other and pushed his hands in his pocket, pulling the coat back by that move, sniffing shortly and looking back at the ruins. He stayed like that for a few seconds, before he turned to the other person next to him and asked:
"There is something I need to do here. I need to find a child and find someone to care for her, for her survival is crucial to human kind. Are you willing to help me with that, but I should warn you... it might be dangerous. Especially considering where we are. Sooo... you with me, Y/N?"
"I used to play." What of it? It wasn't something to make such a big deal out of.
