WILDLY different reactions from getting kicked out of orzammar forever here
Dragon Age Origins AU where everything is the same except your origin's temporary companion comes with you to Ostagar and joins the Wardens. Dalish Origin? Tamlen is a menace. He's ready to fight anybody and everybody at Ostagar—even the King. Especially the shem king. Duncan hopes you keep an eye on him. It takes a lot persuading to get him to do the Dark Ritual. Easier if you're a female warden and you have a relationship with him, because he doesn't want you to die and he doesn't want to die. Will bitch a lot in Dalish—and so can you. Mage Origin? Jowan never leaves your side. He doesn't want to leave your side, not after what you lost to help him. Wynne's glare has him cowering and using you for cover. He becomes braver, however, and when the march of Denerim comes, he is fully willing to take the final blow for you, his best and only friend. Human Noble? Gilmore will doing anything to protect you, his friend, his lord/lady. He was fully willing to attack Duncan during the Joining if you had died. He gets along best with Alistair. If you become King or Queen, he becomes your bodyguard, and will follow you even to Vigil's Keep. Dwarf Noble? Gorim will follow you anywhere. He's there in the Deep Roads, willing to die by his prince/princess, when you are both found by Duncan. He doesn't particularly want to support Bhelen for the throne, but if you do he will stand by your decision. If you had a child as a male, you can use the human way of making him the kid's godfather. Dwarf Commoner? Leske had no choice when Duncan claimed him with you, but at least he's alive and breathing! And with you, too. During Ostagar, you can let him loose and he comes back trinkets and money. Doesn't like the whole 'saving the world' thing but, hey, at least they're looting. He really changes his tune if you make Bhelen king and, later on if Hardened, Alistair is made king/king with Anora because, wow, he's palling with royalty and getting the royal treatment! Fist fights Oghren a lot. City Elf? Soris doesn't really want to be here. But you're here, and you've been his hero since you were children and he knows nothing can take you down, so he's a little bit comforted. He slowly comes into his own, being confident and sure of himself, and Shianni makes a comment about it and he says it's because he had you, his cousin, his friend, helping him. He and Zevran have a flirty relationship and, at the end if you didn't romance Zevran, have a hint of a relationship going on. Is fully willing to either die for you or do the Dark Ritual, because he wants to repay all the times you were his hero to be your hero just this once.
Rica (about Beraht): “I can only imagine the horrible things he's made you do."
wulfrin brosca. hero of ferelden
I've only played through the origin so I don't know much about her yet, but this is Taima Brosca, confident as hell that she's gonna kick ass at Ostagar
(She still thinks she would've made a kickass crimelord and only went with the warden bc Rica told her to.)
With only 16 days left until Dragon Age The Veilguard, let's go through history.
What is your favorite origin in Dragon Age Origins?
🏹 Dalish Elf Mahariel
🛡 Human Noble Cousland
🗡 City Elf Tabris
👑 Dwarf Noble Aeducan
🪄 Mage Human/Elf Amell/Surana
⚔️ Dwarf Commoner Brosca
Have you played them all?
Something I hadn't considered until now is how brutal the mission to kill Jarvia and most of the Carta in Orzammar is for Brosca. I'll never forget the emotional gut punch that was having to fight and kill Leske, who is probably only true friend Brosca has ever had in all their life (I remember desperately searching if there was a dialogue option or something to let him live but there is none), but I also just thought that Brosca must have known most, if not all of those Carta members that we fight through the mission.
And knowing how the casteless are pretty much cut off from the rest of Orzammar's society and most are forced into a life of crime, Brosca must have known and possibly have been friends or at least care for for a lot of the Carta members, and also possibly have worked with them often under orders from Beraht and Jarvia.
Then after becoming a Warden, returning to Orzammar and under orders from either Harrowmont or Bhlen, they have to go to their old home in Dust Town and kill Jarvia (who was alledgely planning to use her growing power in Orzammar to force the Assembly to recognize the rights of the casteless), Leske and pretty much everyone else they knew during their many years growing up and while being a part of the Carta.
Just another bit of tragedy for Brosca's story.
