This is Mira, an orphan rescued by Costa Rica's Sloth Sanctuary. At first, it was believed she was a regular three-toed sloth, though the resident vets were concerned about her abnormally small size. As time went on and Mira remained tiny despite the good food and excellent care, the workers reached a startling conclusion; Mira was most likely a pygmy three-toed sloth. No one is quite sure how she arrived on the mainland or just where she came from.
