Niko and Dwayne fighting yaoi <3
Dwayne from GTA 4 makes me so sad. He lives in such a sad place, literally and figuratively.
His home is a mess, its full of needles and stains, along with graffiti. Its no secret that he's terribly depressed. He makes Niko act more joyful, and Niko is... not in a good place either. He probably doesn't have the strength to clean up anymore, not after he lost everything, but even in conversations with him, he still didn't love hurting people with the drugs he peddled. He knew he was ruining lives.
He and Niko make such a great pair of foils. Both lived terrible lives forced onto them, and the only way to not drown in the soil was to keep digging.
Its no secret that his broken home and lack of financial wealth caused him to go into hustling. You can tell that if he had at least one or the other, he could have "made it" as a great businessman or salesman.
Niko was forced into war from the possible ages of 13-23, and what he saw ruined him forever, and ruined his home. Killing and hurting people is what he does to not drown.
Dwayne and Niko want out. Its a shame no one talks about Dwayne as much. He's shown to be empathetic, to the point where he asks Niko not to hurt people if he can help it. He even gives Niko his old apartment. Hang outs with Dwayne end up with Niko begging Dwayne to just keep going. Dwayne gave Playboy everything, reached out to Niko.
Playboy is like Dwayne, but he let the greed overtake him. He's cold, and focuses on benefiting himself. He hurt Dwayne, an older brother figure, because there was cash to be made. Its why I get kind of suspicious if you sided with Playboy over Dwayne. Dwayne doesn't even fight back if you kill him. Dwayne just... lets it happen. Playboy just cuts Niko off when he does, too, so you don't even get much of a reward.
I really love Dwayne. He's my favorite character. I just want to make him feel better. I'll give him his club back, home back, and give him a friend. He's also a very interesting case of being the better foil to a protagonist. Niko is his dark reflection. Would Dwayne have been like Niko if he gave back into that struggle?
