The Cost of the Deal

(Spoilers for GTA IV ending!)

Niko often did things for money. But when he decided to do the deal, he didn't do it for himself. He did it for Roman. It wasn't just about the money, it was about trying to end the cycle of violence and revenge. And even though Niko really wanted to kill Dimitri, he also wanted a way out of that life. For many years, his focus on finding Darko consumed him.

So when he finally decided to let go and move forward, he lost the very person he did the deal for.

(That's just my interpretation of the Deal Ending!)
