As the Digital Workplace Conference comes to a close for another year I’d like to reflect on what a great event this is for the Office 365 and SharePoint community in Australia and thank the people behind the organisation of the conference, in particular Debbie Ireland and Mark Rhodes.

This year I was fortunate enough to be included in the lineup of amazing speakers, many who had travelled internationally to be here for the event.

My session was on the topic of Office Add-in development and I’d like to thank everyone that attended the session and the passionate people who came to talk to me after the session as well. My slide deck is available here:

I have in the past pondered if conferences are still relevant in the modern era of video training, social media and plethora of information available on the internet. Two days immersed in this conference gives me no doubt that conferences are still a highly valuable medium for education, awareness, training and more importantly direct and open access to experts. It hard to imagine another environment that brings together so many experts that are happy to discuss and understand your scenarios, pains, challenges and success stories and talk through options, past experience and thoughts on the topics.

Personally I was able to meet some awesome people that I follow and have been “virtually” taking advice from for years.

I also had the opportunity to talk to a lot of attendees and love to hear the many varied stories of how organisations are using the technology and where they are looking to go in future.

Another drabble thing from my Doctor Who College AU :)

Backstory: It's 2 AM

Amy's phone buzzed. She rolled over and picked up her phone off of the small table next to her bed. She had gotten a new text message.

It was from Rory.

I know it's late and you're probably asleep, but I wanted to tell you that I love you <3

Rory is a good man.

This one is super short but I had to. Rory is the best <3

I DID IT AGAIN

I keep writing these things. This one is based off of a true story.

Why was it a good idea to take interpretive dance? (11, Jack and Rory take a class)

“Now put your masks on, class. Remember to think about what animal you 'are'...” The professor said, putting air quotes around the word are. 

The Doctor sighed and put on his raccoon mask. He looked over at Rory who was dressed as a tree and looked next to him as Jack was putting on rabbit ears and a mask.

“I feel ridiculous...” the Doctor sighed audibly.

Jack just smirked “This is gonna be great, I have no idea what you're talking about...and Rory just looks smashing in that tree costume...”

The Doctor and Jack burst out into laughter and immediately stopped as the music started. They tried to move about the stage with grace but unfortunately, the Doctor just couldn't get it. He was never a dancer. After the dance ended, the three friends were tired out.

Rory shuffled over to the Doctor and Jack “Why the hell did we take this class?”

Another drabble from the universe of my Doctor Who College AU. YEAH.

Backstory: Jack and Clara are a thing

“Stop it, Jack.” Clara sighed “I have to study for exams.” She rolled her eyes at her boyfriend.

Jack smiled “Well, I'm not trying to bother you, dearest.” He batted his long eyelashes at her.

“Can you stop that, Jack?!” She turned to look at him “I am never going to pass my cooking exam with you distracting me like this!”

“What am I doing wrong, love?” Jack asked innocently, giving Clara the puppy dog eyes.

Clara put a huge recipe book standing up between them as she continued to read the other book. She stole a glance at Jack and saw him smiling innocently at her.

She kissed him.

“Wow...” Jack trailed off as they pulled apart “What was that for?”

“I just couldn't help it.” She smiled.

This one's kinda long...compared to my other ones...love them tho. They would make a great couple

Doctor Who College AU again

I made another drabble. These are gonna be pretty short.

Backstory: 11 and River are a thing

“You work at the coffee shop on campus?” River giggled “I had no idea! That's great.”

The Doctor blushed “Well, it's nice to see you here, River. Is there anything I can get for you?”

“Well...” River leaned on the counter, her face just inches from his. 

The Doctor's face changed from a light pink to a bright red as she glanced at his lips briefly. 

“You can get me a kiss, coffee boy.”

Doctor Who College AU

I wrote a drabble. Just a test for the characters. There will probably be more...hopefully, anyway!

Backstory: 11 and Rory are roomies

“What do you mean I have to leave...?” The Doctor asked when his roommate, Rory, walked in after his last class demanding him to leave “What are you going to-” He smirked “Oh...”

Rory blushed.

“I'll go sleep in Pond's dorm...” The Doctor trailed off.

“Uh no.” Rory started “River's her roommate. You know that. We don't want you two waking up the whole suite.”

Now it was the Doctor's turn to blush.

Yay that's it.
